    XC Voyager Refurbishment

    I don’t believe so, no….

Couple of months at least - even then they’ll come over one or two at a time…

    XC Voyager Refurbishment

The big rumour going around internally is that the shops on the 7 Avanti units are staying put…. although it’s not been officially confirmed…

    Other Sports....

Just as skillful as golf - you have to get a dart in a target, same as a golf ball in a hole from a distance. If people say darts isn’t a sport then golf isn’t either….

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

Third reading with all the amendments chucked in will be interesting…

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

As a former party member who’s been long disillusioned with the current sh*t-show in charge, this could be very delicious….

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

Sunak only has a majority of 56 now so 29 rebels voting no or 58 abstentions and the bill is toast - and so is his reputation, what credible shreds are left of it…

Aslef strikes and OT ban called…

Nothing to stop you going into work though…

Aslef strikes and OT ban called…

    Indeed it has unfortunately.

    RMT strike referendum passed

For me, I don’t think about 2020/2021 for pay as during that time I was just grateful of still having a job during the pandemic and not having to be furloughed. I was happy to accept a pay freeze for job security.

    BT Copper to Fibre

…. 112/999 will not work in the UK without an active SIM card in the phone. Although the GSM standard allows the ability to make emergency calls without a sim inserted, it’s not supported in the UK. However several years back they changed it so your phone will connect to any available mobile...

    RMT strike referendum passed

Will depend on the pay date for each of the TOC’s. I believe GA and GWR may get theirs in Jan from what I’ve heard? I know XC’s next pay date is 22/12 so should be ok for that…

    BT Copper to Fibre

I’ve looked on the Sky forum and you have to use the Sky Router effectively as a bridge linked with the 3rd party router in order for Sky Talk to work, which is a ballache.

    BT Copper to Fibre

We’ve got Sky Talk over the VoIP system now and I’m led to believe this won’t work with non-Sky routers?

    BT Copper to Fibre

Just had FTTP recently go live on the pole outside my house. Got it installed today on a 500Mbit package. It’s night and day compared to my old FTTC which was running on knackered copper cable (had a 67Mbit package but was lucky to get 20-30 Mbit). Shame I can’t change the router as the one...

    Sunday trading laws discussion

Sundays are just a normal day of the week as far as I’m concerned. I’ve never had a job which didn’t have Sundays rostered so I’m used to it. I’d welcome complete deregulation but with a protection if someone wants to opt out. Let the market forces decide.

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

Thing is, “all in” would commit us to Schengen and adopting the Euro, all with non-rebatable contributions, so I don’t believe we’ll ever rejoin with those conditions.

    Possible Movement in RMT Dispute.

From what I’m hearing from my travels, the vast majority in all grades are happy to take the 5%… I know I certainly am. I’ve said all along I’d be happy with 3-5% no strings…. With the underpin I’d actually get about 6.5% so I’ll have some of that thank you!
