Chiltern trainee vacancies - (Marylebone / Aylesbury / Banbury)

It's been quite a while since they advertised for Banbury so I've thrown my hat in the ring. Does anybody know how many positions there are / when the courses are likely to be?

Platform Station Host - Chiltern Railways - looking for advice please

For this post it will simply be Application > Interview (with basic assessments) > Position. The role itself is essentially a dispatcher, along with the added customer service element and keeping the station clean and tidy. You will also be doing assists (ramps/luggage).

Are Chiltern missing out on Boxing Day?

If we know that Bicester Village is going to be busy say on a Saturday (not so much of a problem on a weekday), in a standard Wembley event timetable, sometimes we choose not to load services coming down from Oxford as we know the likelihood is they will be full and standing. Depending on the...

Kids' play areas on Chiltern loco-hauled

One of the current main business objectives of Chiltern Railway's... ...get more bums on seats during off-peak services. The strict answer, is not very. With the exception of the Bicester Village tourists, you'll find most units have plenty of free space in the day.

Non safety-critical jobs in the industry for a 16 year old

Young Man, Best advice I was ever given at the age of 16 was to continue on with FREE education until you're 18 whatever capacity that may be (apprenticeship, BTEC, A-Levels). Forget about a railway job at the age of 16, get your qualifications under your belt, do a part time job that gets...

    Chiltern Railways Trainee Driver Vacancies

Agreed. The whole of the HR department and recruitment process is shambolic, infact one of the worst I have ever experienced. How you can judge a candidate on three application questions alone has always surprised me. I believe it's just as bad for current employees as well.

Virgin Train East Coast Train Manager

Had an email today inviting me to an assessment centre in York, next Monday, 10th July. They've got to be having a laugh, right? 2 months to get back to people then give them 3 days notice for asssessments. The day will only be two hours long as well!

    Chiltern Railways Trainee Train Manager

I know offers have been made for both the Banbury and Birmingham positions. Banbury was an internal candidate.

The future for Chiltern's Class 121 "bubble car" units?

Sorry, that's my poor description, I was referring to the public one that NSEFAN has just mentioned above.

The future for Chiltern's Class 121 "bubble car" units?

Should be, or at least the overbridge at Aylesbury Station. The transmission dropped out on it, so it ain't going anywhere.

    Chiltern to remove on-board catering..

Just to bring this thread up to speed, it would appear 20th May will be the final day for catering across all services inc. Mainline. I believe the catering staff themselves are not overly happy with how the whole situation has been handled...

    Chiltern Railways Trainee Driver Vacancies

If you think that is bad, spare a thought for the internals who had done all the psychometrics, told they had a job ... then told the course was postponed until 2018 ... then told if they wanted to go onto the mainline course this year they'd have to retake the psychometrics to gain an enhanced...
