    Xplore Dundee

At least the exteriors are relatively uniform... there's the odd single decker going around with non-matching seat covers, and quite a bit of signage still references National Express Dundee almost 9 years after the rebrand. CCTV cameras are often broken, as are next stop announcements on the...

    Transdev Blazefield

Perhaps more comically - Pickering to York via Scarborough, Middlesbrough and Leeds. That’s a fair trek! This app package has been in use with Uno, Diamond, plenty of others… They say they didn’t know what they were getting themselves into. How bad are things if even the industry-standard app...

    Stagecoach East Scotland

St Andrews depot staff are the best in the area - genuine culture for getting people moving, especially during the Tay Bridge works. They definitely deserve buses that actually work…

    Stagecoach East Scotland

Definitely great for the X24/X27. I don't think double decks will be used on routes going over the Tay Road Bridge (and therefore probably with routes that interwork with that), so with length constraints in St Andrews and (I believe?) Glenrothes, what could be realistically procured for the...

Next new/reinstated rail line in Scotland

STARLink tends to be referenced quite often in response to this. It would be useful to have a more direct competitor to the (rather grim) X59 and to be able to run longer golf trains into the town to relieve the surrounding roads, especially around the time of major events. However, STARLink’s...

    Xplore Dundee

Couldn’t agree more… Oh dear. Clearly a standardised livery style is being used to try and create brand cohesion between the business units, but Dundee is a completely separate geographic area, so there’s not any brand value added. Perhaps they’re trying to replicate how Transdev create a...

Station platforms, it's gone too far, it's crossed a red line (literally)

Should we keep moving the line forward until there is a fatality? Whilst of course context always applies (and I don’t know enough to comment on 13/14), a low number may suggest an effective safety measure, as opposed to a redundant one.

    Greater Anglia : Improved TOC?

I’m not sure if this has been brought up before - I’ve remembered this from someone who found the trademark for LNER - but the DfT also hold a trademark for Great Eastern Railway, registered on March 27. I hope it’s completely unrelated (they’re not using this name for anything else, are they?)...

    Abellio wins West Midlands franchise

It appears to be present on the livery if you zoom in enough, but that's all I could find. Hopefully that was only the name during development...

    GTR new booking engine

I saw a post when the Northern (or TPE, can't remember, I think Northern) franchise winner rumours were going around that said that Govia's bid had been rejected for being substandard, so if true, I think that shows GTR/Govia aren't just incompetent, they plain don't care. Have I went too...

    GWR Class 800

It looks like it's giving the impression of currently being painted into a fully red livery to try and promote everyone involved. Hard to word, but it's probably just me.

London Underground Circle Map (note: huge image)

Whilst this version of the map renames some of the lines, there is a another version which keeps all of LO as LO and doesn't rename the Edgware section of the Northern line. The underlining of stations is due to it being on Wikipedia as an SVG, allowing for the ability for information when you...

ECML Disruption - Saturday 27th December

For once, Abellio Greater Anglia doesn't seem to be the service with the most delays. :P Shame there aren't any other London stations on the ECML that could handle this amount of people, or so it seems.

Virgin / Stagecoach win East Coast

Virgin Trains East Coast But Stagecoach too! How to not do pretend branding on forums. Virgin seem to be getting a bit more focus in the news instead of Stagecoach, even though they have the larger share. Then again, Virgin's the larger company.

    Trivia; Station Names

MediaCityUK because it's the full name of the venue. IBM because it was named after the IBM factory (either that or some IBM offices) that used to be there. ------- Hatfield comes in to mind for me. A field of hats! Gotta love Llandwellongnamegoeshere as well.

Someone search for Malton and Seamer for me :)

    Scotrail Franchise - Barriered stations

Hmm... Edinburgh Park'll be a bit of a trouble to barrier, I think.

Northern and TPE Short List Announced

Well, you can tell I'm one of those people up North who get impressed with Class 395s. :p Are the Networkers and Electrostars really in worse of a state of a Pacer? I agree, the improvements will be quite the decisive factor.

Northern and TPE Short List Announced

I do like Southeastern, which Govia have held, so maybe they can change the image of the Northern franchise, from "old, noisy trains" to at least "decent". I suppose the real likes and dislikes will come down to what the companies say they'll do with the franchise.
