    I cleared all the class 45s and 46s and Westerns living in Churchdown between 1969 and 1971. The hymeks were easy too but not so much the North Brits and definitely Warships were few and far between.

    I started spotting in 1969 in Churchdown between Gloucester and Cheltenham. Westerns and Hymeks were 2 a penny but Warships certainly were not but in 1970 there was a regular turn for a double headed pair Southbound at approx 15.40 which we ran from school to see. Would anyone know what this...

    Why do so many photos in the 1970s show ScR locos with only one number amongst 3 dots displayed in their headcode boxes even though the system was widely used as planned throughout all other regions of BR?
