    TOC Branding

Wasn't the green stripe version of the Regional Railways livery (applied to some Class 156s) the RRNW livery?

    TOC Branding

Wasn't "Network North West" a sectorisation idea prior to shadow franchising?

    First Eastern Counties

I notice that FEC are launching "Ipswich reds Village Links" as the brand for their rural routes to the east of Ipswich. Described as "south Suffolk" in the news item, but I think most people would say they're east Suffolk! Ipswich reds - Village Links I also notice that the phrase "rural reds"...

GA Class 90 Mark 3 Sets Withdrawal

Thanks for the info, hard to imagine compared to the last time I went to Norwich earlier in the year and there seemed to be Mk3s everywhere! Have they finished the changes to the depot now the legacy stock has gone? (Apologies if I missed that info!).

GA Class 90 Mark 3 Sets Withdrawal

With today's Class 90 move does that mean all the legacy stock has gone from Crown Point or are there still some Mk3s about?

    'Assistance' Test Trip 755/745

I did think it may be unlikely given the 755/3s habits of overheating on diesel! Thanks, Gareth

    'Assistance' Test Trip 755/745

Was the 755/3 in diesel or electric mode? Presumably testing in diesel would be helpful to cover if the overheads lost power rather than just unit faults. Thanks, Gareth

GA Class 90 Mark 3 Sets Withdrawal

With all these moves of MKIIIs away from Crown Point, how many are left at Norwich, have more left than remain? Thanks, Gareth

Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Are all the 755s going back to Crown Point overnight or are some stabling at Ipswich (for example)? It seems they are short of units first thing (e.g. early Felixstowes seem to get canned), or do the 755s not like the mornings?

    Caledonian Sleeper

I was under the impression that, as with the MK3 the mattress has to be removed to fold up the top bunk? Another reason to leave them down all the time. You could end up with a situation at say Fort William (as it's not a main depot) where they were short of mattresses! Gareth

Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

A new article has appeared on the East Anglian website with a list of 10 quite clear questions, will be interesting to see if GA answer them! https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/greater-anglia-train-problems-1-6416164

Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

That seems to be the plan according to Journeycheck. Presumably stopping short at Ely gives more time for checking the wheel sets. Gareth

Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Thanks for confirming. It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. Have the Class 755s always been disappearing off the track circuits or is this a new thing now the wheelsets are beginning to wear (as well as the leaf fall season)? Gareth

Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Can anyone confirm where the Class 755s are operating today (Sunday)? Are they doing Norwich-Sheringham[Cromer] and Norwich-Great Yarmouth/Lowestoft? Leaving Norwich-Cambridge and Ipswich-Lowestoft with the Class 156s+170? Are they still cleaning the wheels manually after every trip? Thanks...

Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Does anyone know if the 755 ran on the Felixstowe branch again today? The first 755 run was cancelled and now JourneyCheck saying services formed of "1 coach instead of 2". Looking at yesterday's timings it seemed to hold up well but appears to take longer to swap ends as the sprinters could...

    Caledonian Sleeper

I used the coach at the end of July. We were in berths but another passenger got on the coach who was in the seats. They had got on at Crewe and had just bought a ticket on the day to Crianlarich. The coach waits outside the station (turn left when you go down the stairs). The bus driver was...

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

Does anyone know if the two units which hit trees last week are back in service? Are there any other regional DMUs out of action at the moment?

Revenue protection on St Ives Branch

I visited St Ives a couple of years ago in August (staying in Carbis Bay) and was surprised to see queuing pens and crowd management staff at St Ives station. There were staff on the St Ives end of the platform checking tickets of arrivals (and selling to those who didn't have them) and staff...

Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

744 418 is just about to leave Great Yarmouth so is out and about today. The units really are a step up, capacity, facilities and acceleration wise are a significant improvement. It was interesting to see that the extending step on the front set of doors still didn't reach the platform edge at...

    Felixstowe Branch unit diagrams

Thank you for the information. I thought it might have been due to new diagrams but hadn't expected three or four to cycle on the branch in the day. Previously I think it's been one unit for most of the day. Will be interesting to see which other routes are in the diagrams and if they cause...
