I notice that FEC are launching "Ipswich reds Village Links" as the brand for their rural routes to the east of Ipswich. Described as "south Suffolk" in the news item, but I think most people would say they're east Suffolk! Ipswich reds - Village Links I also notice that the phrase "rural reds"...

Thanks for the info, hard to imagine compared to the last time I went to Norwich earlier in the year and there seemed to be Mk3s everywhere! Have they finished the changes to the depot now the legacy stock has gone? (Apologies if I missed that info!).

With today's Class 90 move does that mean all the legacy stock has gone from Crown Point or are there still some Mk3s about?

Was the 755/3 in diesel or electric mode? Presumably testing in diesel would be helpful to cover if the overheads lost power rather than just unit faults. Thanks, Gareth

Are all the 755s going back to Crown Point overnight or are some stabling at Ipswich (for example)? It seems they are short of units first thing (e.g. early Felixstowes seem to get canned), or do the 755s not like the mornings?

I was under the impression that, as with the MK3 the mattress has to be removed to fold up the top bunk? Another reason to leave them down all the time. You could end up with a situation at say Fort William (as it's not a main depot) where they were short of mattresses! Gareth

That seems to be the plan according to Journeycheck. Presumably stopping short at Ely gives more time for checking the wheel sets. Gareth

Thanks for confirming. It will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. Have the Class 755s always been disappearing off the track circuits or is this a new thing now the wheelsets are beginning to wear (as well as the leaf fall season)? Gareth
