Allow for around 30-45 per assessment. There is no set number. On my assessment there was 30.

    Flying Scotsman halted by trespassers!

Just seen on sky news that the ecml has been brought to a stand by train spotters trying to get a look at the inaugural run. As a driver this infuriates me, stay off the tracks and stay safe before you get yourself killed or destroy a drivers career! I don't understand the way these anoraks go...

WCMLaddict - who said I am a northern employee? Both bits of information are readily available on the Internet in the public domain. Both very easy to find.

Northern Rail - ASLEF to ballot members.

As far as I'm aware and from what we have been told from the aslef reps it is all down to the % of the deal that has been offered. Northern and TPE used to be 1 franchise until they split, now from the time that the two became separate franchises the difference in pay between northern drivers...

Northern Rail - ASLEF to ballot members.

The initial ballot (due to start today) was due to what has been deemed an unacceptable pay deal. Further issues have however come to light, such as northern ALLEDGEDLY saying managers will be used to cover shortages (this is prior to any strikes...due to cancellations and warnings from the dft)...

Northern Rail - ASLEF to ballot members.

So here's the situation, Aslef and northern have been locked in talks regarding this year's (April 2014) pay rise. The first offer was 2.7% backdated to April followed by 2.5% next April. This was turned down. The next and final offer was 2.7% backdated to April followed by 2.5% or RPI...

how do i become a overhead lines designer?

It's the same thing. I'm just unsure as to why you want to be an overhead designer when there's nothing wrong with the current system. I can't see anybody pumping money into a new design that will do the same thing. The old saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it comes to mind. I'm not trying to...

    London Midland

I understand what you're saying but I am a driver who came off the street with no railway experience and I certainly wouldn't class myself as a risk. The fact you can get up for ****s etc is a bonus, however you say you sign the routes as a guard? A drivers route knowledge has to be a lot...

    London Midland

It's not really that crazy. Granted, internals do sometimes get preference, occasionally, jobs are only advertised internally. However who is to say that an external wouldn't be better than an internal?
