458505, refurbishment set No.3 in Widnes, a couple of days after arrival mid Feb 2023. The plan is to have a rolling 3 458 sets at Widnes till at least the summer. Hopefully the image description will pass foresenic inspection.
I posted the picture for general interest following the earlier comment 'I have not seen any photos'
For clarity, it was taken a few months ago and I do have the owners permission to upload it.
Many of the interior surfaces are wrapped in new vinyl during the refurbishment, the toilet cubicles being a good example. Angel won't pay for new fridges when they can be given a relatively low cost face lift with a vinyl wrap.

The project is running behind. The last 9 car is expected through Widnes in June 2024
So it turns out that 390137 hasn’t been refurbished yet.
I got my information from Today’s Railways on twitter, which stated...

This has only been announced today, makes you wonder if the news is slow or its going to add further delay to the reintroduction. Didn't I read that a couple of units have already been converted to AC, you'd think...
I'm interested in changes to the braking system. Presumably the upgrade is restricted to the two motor bogies only?
Does the 442 have any regen braking currently or is it all friction.
We supply a consumable part for the 442. SWR have just placed a large order suggesting that the first re furbished units could be entering service soon,
