Northern Strike Monday 26/03- Taxi Home?

I guess as Northern have posted on their website to either travel earlier or you can travel on an alternative date a taxi would not be arranged. You are entitled to a full refund if you no longer travel. There is a bus (stagecoach) at 2110 or 2300 from Carlisle to Workington which you could use...

New South Western franchise: Awarded to First/MTR

It may happen CP7 (2024) or beyond but would have to be AC electrification and not DC from Basingstoke to Salisbury and Test Valley. Page 84 of Network Rail Control Period 6 Wessex region Strategic plan document

New South Western franchise: Awarded to First/MTR

No the key has to be removed by the driver before the door control work in the leading cab. This would increase dwell time which the DFT wanted to reduce.

New South Western franchise: Awarded to First/MTR

It not a question of dispatch staff it's the units themselves. Anyway only Waterloo is staffed 24/7. Limited number stations with staff from first service to last train at present and over 140 stations with no staff at all.

New South Western franchise: Awarded to First/MTR

Due to the way desiro's 444/450 are currently configured train wouldn't be able to stop at any intermediate stations. Replacement not due until at least 2025. I have used Glasgow suburban services and certainly wouldn't use them at night as it's not safe. Can't rely on BTP in Glasgow as that is...

There is an hourly GWR service from Basingstoke to Reading on Sunday. Also lots of platform closures at Waterloo hence no easement.

RMT raises serious SWR safety breaches

I mean regarding investment in rolling stock and stations. Some old trains are being rehashed when they should be cut up. Yes passengers numbers are higher but this is starting to drop in the London and South east regions. Investment of electrification projects have been put back or stopped.

RMT raises serious SWR safety breaches

We have already had that. It was disastrously called Railtrack. Longer term franchises already exist and they haven't worked either. Conspiracy for you. The Petrochemical industry has lobbied to reduce the number of people travelling by rail. Certainly numbers have reduced and rail strikes put...
