    Refurbed GWR 158

It could be on any of the 158 diagrams. So most likely on Cardiff -Portsmouth route but no one will know the exact services until the day.

    emilyd's Reports from the Rails

I've not posted on here before but, as most of my bashing trips tend to be with ollieb, several of my journeys have already been featured in ollieb's reports from the rails. :) My trip reports on RailUK Forums will be for some occasional solitary trips. If you'd like to read more about my...

Here are some photos I took of Looe harbour. As you can see, it was a beautiful day, though we were half asleep after the overnight journey! :)

    Split-ticketing suggestions for TVP-PNR?

I'm travelling from Tiverton Parkway to Penrith on 15th July 2015, at either 1238 or 1338 because these are the trains with the cheapest advance fares that are convenient for me: £40.25 and £41.25 respectively (with a 16-25 railcard). I've tried splitting at Birmingham New Street but that...

York to Scarborough - Off Peak more expensive than Anytime

It didn't specify anywhere that it was a return. This was in the list of options for single tickets. But thanks anyway.

York to Scarborough - Off Peak more expensive than Anytime

Can anyone explain why the anytime single fare from York to Scarborough (with a railcard) is £10.50, while the off-peak fare is £11.80? I mean, who's going to pay £1.30 more to have their available travel times restricted? Thanks.

What was the steam train passing through York today?

I know; I've seen photos of it now. Just that the front is black and I only saw it for a few moments as it came past. :)

What was the steam train passing through York today?

Yes I could probably have worked that out anyway but it did make it clearer.

What was the steam train passing through York today?

Ah okay. That makes sense if it was on its way back to King's Cross, as it was approaching from the North and (I forgot to mention) this was at around 16:45.

What was the steam train passing through York today?

Hi everyone, I was at York station today printing out my pre-bought tickets for a trip next week, when I noticed a large crowd of people standing with cameras on the bridge and along platforms 9 and 10, as if awaiting a railtour or some kind of special train. Sure enough, a few minutes later a...

Why do you use the train?

I don't travel by train on a regular basis, but it's by far the quickest and most convenient way to get from one end of the country to the other, and to and from university. I'm nearly 19 but don't want to learn to drive, because I enjoy travelling by train so much and I suppose if you don't...
