    Arriva London trainee drivers

Everyone without fail gives the routes, depot locations etc and it all used to get quite samey. Different stuff like introduction of 710's, barking riverside extension, that DB are the parent company and what other franchioses they operate, it goes a long way to showing you've done your homework...

    Arriva London trainee drivers

When it comes time for a DMI guys do yourselves a bit of a favour and do your own reasearch so when you get asked to "tell us what you know about ARL" you dont give a canned answer thats the same as every other applicant, when i worked for ARL and was interviewing people tend to stand out more...

    What does this signal mean?

quite correct, it will be laid out like a normal temporary speed restriction with the addition of the emergency indicator before the warning board and an a permanent magney on approach to the emergency indicator in addition to the permanent magnet on approach to the warning board.

    "Side Lights" on trains

Quite true, Lorol 313's wernt modified in this way as your FCC units were since ours were used for a mixture of DOO/non-DOO working. So once you put a key in at both ends it normally resulted in the Door Gear MCB tripping in either cab

    East London Line

I'd expect it will be incredibly busy between West Croydon and Canada Water after the 23rd May. Since it gives an option for a lot more people to dodge zone 1. At present I dont think a lot of people realise its opened yet for the preview service.

A unit has been selected to be the first service to run on the ELL complete with a huge white sticker (overground roundel and something like "First East London Line Train - April 2010") which has been stuck on the black panels on the front/rear cab emergency egress doors, the signs have been...

Kind of more the other way around, unit was stuck at Brockley with an emergency brake application for a few minutes. I passed it going the other way. Apparently the emergency brake applied and wouldnt release until the unit was shut down and restarted......sounds a bit like it was...

Been a few more problems today (not DOO related) 378153 was running ok on the ELL but with a loss of traction power when on the Southern. and 378146 delayed at Brockley due to an unsolicited brake application

    East London Line

Probably better off speaking to LO rather than LUL mate :) Some TfL staff (management) were insistant that the line was opening on monday, even after one of the LOROL directors had already said it was being delayed to most of the staff that work at NXG depot.

    East London Line

At first I was expecting it to be some washed out political excuse but it genuinely is an issue, we have had Bombardier guys at Dalston and New Cross Gate on the platforms today grabbing drivers as they arrive and checking for issues with DOO cameras, there are some software glitches still...

    East London Line

Well, that might be incorrect, some of the diagrams we have (i havnt looked at all of them yet) show trains running beyond 21:00 and earlier than 07:00, cant give you more exact times as I didnt really look at the diagrams properly as they only started getting introduced last week and Im...

As far as we are aware the core route is still going to be opening on that date, unless the plan has been changed and us drivers as is usual are the last to find out

Hi Dazza, forgot to change that, since moving over there I suppose now I could have: Standing at L563 for half hour after being over-zealous with the SG button :)
