    Upcoming SWR driver pay deal

We’re going to go off thread with this, and I don’t want @pompeyfan having his collar felt:) So just to be clear on the point you have raised. The DfT placed this requirement ‘in the life of the franchise’ it’s set in stone!

    Upcoming SWR driver pay deal

But why would/should they need to negotiate for a safety critical guard in their terms & conditions. It was promised in the current franchise contract that guards are guaranteed for the 7 year life life of franchise.

Could the existing SWR inner suburban "metro" services transfer to TfL control?

There were rumours around late 2015 that TFL would take over metro services just post SWR franchise start, but there was no money in the pot then followed by the Cross Rail delay & overspend.......will it ever happen?

SWR Longest Strike - December 2019

This may happen when the new MD’s (not interim) position has been filled. It was never gonna happen under Andy Mellors tenure, due to him guaranteeing the Guards Grade from day one of the strike We shall have to see

SWR Longest Strike - December 2019

But as you say a reserved reply was from the HR Directorate of a large corporate company, what were you expecting? Even when Mick Cash ‘el presidente’ RMT was in written dialogue to Andy Mellors (as seen on this forum) it was formal and not militant unlike his RMT Press Releases!

SWR Longest Strike - December 2019

On the RMT money side of things, I heard that a “very large” amount of funds were procured & loaned from another trade association to assist the striking guards in lieu of wages. Assistance funds have also been contributed by driver colleagues at some train-crew depots.

Penalty Fare Notice - Valid Ticket

Yes as it’s indicated this fare, and the OP needs to pay up within 21 days or it will escalate and start racking up fees! And if there are grounds to appeal the procedure together with payment information is on the back of the UFN.

Facing prosecution for slip of the tongue

The OP has not ‘short-fared’ as she has stated this twice! So the TOC believe they have good grounds to prosecute, But if the OP makes a Subject Access Application (cctv) for coverage to back up her response, it will prove ticket facilities were not available at Stoke Mandeville together with no...

SWR Longest Strike - December 2019

It's very much dependent on how many routes the guard will hold competency on, also some services run 8 or 10 coaches factor in that the 10 car hybrids (8 + 2) do run in reverse formation and you have to be very aware of your stepping off point onto platform when giving full release of doors. A...

Facing prosecution for slip of the tongue

To the OP, find out if the TVM's at Stoke Mandeville are still out of order and together with the time (ticket office closed) of your departure these should assist in mitigating circumstances. The Revenue Dept of TOC will hopefully (for your sake) have viewed station CCTV to correlate departure...

SWR Longest Strike - December 2019

There is no such thing as a conversion course for guards, in terms of familiarity the 455 & 456 differ in cab layout & operation as standalone or in hybrid formation (8 + 2) and more importantly ASDO (auto selective door opening) is not installed due to age of rolling stock which is required on...
