Send a competent person in a taxi to act as ground person (with radio) and propel down the two miles to Ince moss junction in less than 30 minutes to clear the line. Driver wouldn't even have to take power.

Not sure how you can say network rail maintenance staff are just after a pay deal. Network rail want to completely change working practices for staff on the ground.

From what I've seen the TPE roster is all over the place with no rest day pattern. You can work 6/7/8 days on the bounce but you can also get weeks with a similar number of days as rest days instead. It didn't look too bad from my perspective. I work for Northern and we have a fixed rest day...
