    Trivia: Worst Bus Station

Paris Gallieni bus station. Jesus christ I hope none of you ever need to travel there as its a right cess hole. Newcastle Haymarket is pain in the backside due to its layout! can take easily 10 minutes for a bus to leave the station once it sets off. Incidently I can still remember the fumes...

    Tyne and Wear Metro

I saw it too from the opposite platform at the same time as you,(I work up there for Sage). Tbh I was very disappointed with it from a passenger point of view as I had a good nosy as it went back to the depot. Looked cheaply done out and will be a mess again in 6 months time. New livery looked...

    Football Hooligans - AGAIN

Just checking trains between Sunderland and Newcastle on the 4th March (Derby day) and its metro's only. Appears as if Northern have removed the service in both directions that day, all day. Surely they cant do this? There can be nothing wrong with the line as Grand Centrals are still operating...

Northern Belle - Valentines Day Lunch

Hi all, me and the wife got a trip on the Northern Belle on the 17th Feb as a wedding present. Departing Newcastle 12.30 and retuning at around 20.00. Does anyone know what route it will take or what to expect on the journey? :D

    Football Hooligans - AGAIN

I would say its a combination of alcohol and the police being very heavy handed on a ram packed train because their intelligence got it spectacularly wrong lastnight. On the early train there was a heavy police presence but everyone got on fine, even with the Boro fans who got on later on. Thats...

    Football Hooligans - AGAIN

I can confirm this I myself travelled to the match on the 17.15, although I boarded in Newcastle as I work there. There was absolutely no bother at all even though a lot of people had had a fair bit to drink. Everything was all very good natured. At Boro we were escorted to the ground and safely...

Getting to Alicante (spain) by rail

Hi all, me and the soon to be married Mrs Spoony are looking to possibly travel to Alicante by rail in October. Any ideas on how we can do this and keep costs down. What sort of prices would we be looking to pay? Any help much appreciated.

    Drunks

Last weekend I was on the 8.40am out of Newcastle to Leeds en route to Bolton v Sunderland. By 8.41 I had a can open. Both myself and my fellow football fan drank all the way there and all the way back without out shouting, swearing or being abusive. (left that bit for the match:wink:) We even...

    Durham station

Love Durham station although tend to travel through it rather than start/end journeys though. My grandad used to take me there and we would buy platform tickets and watch the trains go through. Also used to go and sit in the park above and watch the trains from high up in the castle:D

    Brockley Whins-Tyne Dock Reinstatement

Thanks for the replies guys. After thinking about this I know exactly where you mean. Did this line run up to the steel works at Consett at one time? would make sense as to why its called Pontop if so!
