    Class 321 storage/scrapping

They've got six units, or seven if the suggestions of 341 also being one of theirs are accurate.

Merseyrail legacy fleet updates (Class 507/508)

I'm very surprised 021 has had a reprieve, but I expect it'll only be a very brief one. In related news, the 507 railtour has been postponed until the summer.

Merseyrail legacy fleet updates (Class 507/508)

Ominous indeed, I'm glad I got a last ride on 021 last Friday. A shame 014 isn't going instead as it's a dreadful unit in comparison.

Merseyrail legacy fleet updates (Class 507/508)

507013/032 went to Newport on February 19th.

    Merseyrail Expansion

I'm aware, I was agreeing with and reinforcing Djgr's point. Lifting the line through Blacon was a shocking lack of foresight. A very nice footpath in fairness, but I think a railway line to connect Chester with the Deeside Industrial Park and West Wirral would be more useful. As for the loop...

    Rugby Union

A fantastic weekend of rugby, certainly the best of this year's Six Nations so far, for me. I'm absolutely delighted for Italy getting their thoroughly deserved win, although they really should have beaten France as well. England were absolutely sensational in what has to be their best...

    Merseyrail Expansion

I don't think there's any more capacity on the loop, so Merseyrail services along the Borderlands Line would have to be end-to-end, terminating at Birkenhead North. I expect a station at Blacon would also do rather well, despite the area having plenty of buses.

Could other operators utilise the Merseyrail network?

I wouldn't describe the 777s as "good" when they're less reliable than 230s and 769s.

Trivia: More than one operator on town services

    Merseyside: 10A, 14, 53, 82, 86, 471/472. Chester: 14/14A, 15/15A. All are operated by Arriva and Stagecoach.

Merseyrail legacy fleet updates (Class 507/508)

Just had what's likely to be my final ride on my namesake unit, which was on the xx:53 departures from New Brighton. A bit jolty when getting underway, but lovely and warm as always.

    Merseyrail Expansion

The problems with the Borderlands Line are its poor frequency, no direct train into Liverpool and a lack of stations for people living around the line to actually use it. There's nothing wrong with its alignment, although I'll agree the location of Heswall station isn't ideal. However, if...

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

The contract for the construction and maintenance of the 777s was given to Stadler by Merseytravel, not Merseyrail. It's Merseytravel and Stadler who should be apologising and working to implement a solution, and fast.

World Book Day - who would you have gone as?

I went as Professor Lupin from the Harry Potter franchise in Year 6, which was the first year my school made a big fuss of World Book Day. My daughters who are at primary school went as Wednesday Addams, Sophie (BFG), Red Riding Hood and Alice this year, my eldest (Year 9) always went as Mildred...

    Merseyrail Expansion

Carr Mill and Woodchurch make sense, not convinced about Daresbury. I think there are far stronger cases for stations at Beechwood, Town Meadow and Vauxhall. However, I do hope Woodchurch is the first step towards Merseyrail taking over the Borderlands Line and the residents of West Wirral (yes...

Comedic "things you would ban": minor things that irritate you

It isn't ideal but I'm glad you suggested it, one of my shortlisted options is the size I need. Good shout. :)

    Delivery Company Experiences

I've been really lucky with most of the carriers I've used in Liverpool. Never had any issues with Hermes/Evri, Amazon, DHL or DPD. Apart from losing one or two greeting cards and an expensive item of clothing, Royal Mail have also been very good. Yodel is the only carrier I've ever had any...
