    Excessing a mobile ticket

Despite a few threads on this topic on the forum I don't see any clear answers. Is it possible to excess a mobile ticket? Specifically in this case, excessing the return half of a ticket valid London Terminals-Birmingham Stations via High Wycombe to an Any Permitted, possibly also changing the...

    Card only TVMs and LM

Sometimes considered credit, sometimes debit. Depends on the card and even the transaction.

Booking a ticket for TOD when I know that the payment card won't work to collect

I guess. Although I meant that usage can vary up and down, rather than not being used completely. But maybe that is out of the ordinary and that would be what they're aiming to pick up.

Booking a ticket for TOD when I know that the payment card won't work to collect

I'd say you must be quite lucky to never have had a card frozen. I've had cards frozen on more occasions than I can count (mainly online transactions from US websites), and I've had online bank account access suspended on a couple of occasions. Two close family members have had their cards...

    No Ticket Facilities

If it's an Advance fare, consider having it posted out to you. Southeastern (and I'm sure many other sites) will post out at no extra charge and it can be more convenient than queuing up at a station in any case.

Booking a ticket for TOD when I know that the payment card won't work to collect

I'd second this - having more than one card (and keeping them in different places!) is very useful, though I think 30 is a bit over the top (for this purpose at least, I know there are many other reasons you might want to).

My idea for 16-25 railcards to contain the pass hologram

This is a very good point, I didn't think of this until afterwards. Luckily there are alternatives such as a passport (impractical, I know) or one of the many PASS cards.

    Advice about transferring AP ticket

You can see plenty of tickets for resale on eBay for a variety of routes too. No idea whether non-transferability has ever been enforced by a TOC.

My idea for 16-25 railcards to contain the pass hologram

If you have a passport, it's relatively easy to verify your age with the appropriate integration between the two systems. But not everyone even has a passport, never mind a UK one. You'd then end up with a two-tier Railcard system where some are acceptable as age verification and others are not...

    London Terminals query

Thanks, that's a really good one actually. Means I can get the Tube from St Pancras too, if I prefer.

Booking a ticket for TOD when I know that the payment card won't work to collect

HSBC can also send the card to any branch of your choice nationally, which can be quite useful.

Booking a ticket for TOD when I know that the payment card won't work to collect

I've had a good experience at a London Overground station (Camden Road specifically) where I could collect something booked for a specific card from the ticket office, just by showing some ID (incidentally, the name on my ID did not match the name of the booking, but he seemed to just want to...

    London Terminals query

I'm looking at a journey from London to Littlehampton. I'd like to travel from St Pancras on the way out (changing at East Croydon) and return to Victoria (direct) on the way back. I can see two tickets of interest: SVR London Terminals-Littlehampton (£23.65 after Railcard) SVR London St...

Told off for trying to buy a ticket

As I understand it, this is essentially the same as the system used on Oyster for lost Oyster cards or contactless payment cards which have an outstanding debt. The ticket barriers/buses are sent a list of barred cards daily and those cards are not allowed to be used. A similar approach could...

Yes, that's just what I thought. How will they know? Meanwhile, time to go off and buy a lot of tickets...

Excessing TO a railcard fare + Virgin easement

The ticket was purchased for me by a company (they're paying for the ticket) who booked it through thetrainline.com. I asked them to book one ticket for me and they booked a different one. If I'd been booking myself, then I would have just bought what I wanted :) It doesn't really matter, as...
