What do you know about this station they are planning to make? Will it be on the GEML or a branch line? Which trains will stop at it etc.

So I went on a train trip to Clacton the other day, and the station was quite large, compared to some mainline stations. It had four platforms, and all for a branch line terminus that receives 1 tph? Did it used to have an intensive service? I can't imagine that.

A bit late, but it seems like no one has corrected you. Manningtree station is basically in Manningtree, it's on the edge of Manningtree+Lawford (which are together considered as a parish). Harwich International is basically in Harwich too, and it refers to the port really.

I travel on lots of different trains. I know that the 754 couples, but it isn't too bad. The 749 from Manningtree slows as well, and it's on platform 3.

Oh, it seemed a bit unnecessary.

from Manningtree to Colchester

In the mornings when I take a non IC train to Colchester, it always slows down outside Colchester and sometimes stops. I can understand some reasons, but every non IC train I've been on this happens. It even does this when the train is late and I need to catch a tight connection.

The 743 from Manningtree goes straight to LST. Wouldn't want to get on that train if you're aiming for one of the many intermediate stops!

This is a major case for a lot of the larger AGA trains, usually the classes 321 and 90's. Nearly every Mk3 90 is some white+red doors and some blue+light green doors (well, this will change with the redesign). Why is this the case with most of these trains? It makes AGA look unprofessional.

No, the services from Colchester to Ipswich. I also didn't know about the ECS thing.

Probably a stupid idea, but wouldn't it be cool if the few peak trains that have the 20 minute journey of Colchester-Manningtree-Ipswich could go to Mistley also? They could do this by reversing and using North Junction. Really stupid thought, but it would be an added bonus to the people of...

I have found Colchester Town station quite popular, especially with the LST - Ctown service. Maybe they could build an extra platform there and have a Norwich - Colchester Town service? It could go into platforms 1, 4 or 5 and then reverse into Colchester Town. It would be a nice extra service...

So I live around Manningtree. I don't mind journeys of less than 2 hours (without breaks), with exceptions. Can anyone recommend nice lines and cities/towns to go to via train? I have already been to: Chelmsford, London, Lowestoft, Harwich, Sudbury, Colchester+Colchester Town, Ipswich and Norwich.
