    LSL path, 1Z45, 27-Nov-21

Whilst searching RTT for timings for the York Yuletide Express and the Salisbury & Bath Christmas Statesman on 27-Nov (neither of which yet appear in RTT), I stumbled across this: 1Z45, 12:05 Manchester Piccadilly to St Pancras...

    Class 88 headlights

Simple question - I was running through my photos this morning and I have a series of shots taken of 88010... but I noticed that for the pair of low-down lights, in some shots both are on, in another one neither is on, and on others, only one is one... all shots taken in a couple of seconds as...

    EMR HST diagrams

Hello, I’ve read the really useful info in frequently asked diagrams, just want to be sure I’m reading it right. Mon-Fri, it seems 5 HSTs arrive in St Pancras in the morning, and then leave again in the evening - with no work in between - is that correct? What happens to them during the day...

    The Missing Link - 17 March 2018

Curious about this one - organised by UK Railtours, includes the Bletchley Flyover down to Swanbourne - but I didn’t realise the line was still there. Later it is going up to Claydon Junction via Quainton, presumably because Claydon to Swanbourne no longer exists, but why was Swanbourne to...

The Greendale Rocket - BLS - September 9th

I've just stumbled across this whilst reviewing any railtours heading my way - RailwayHerald site shows it as ACLG electric (tba) Any ideas? Not sure who owns what and what is mainline certified - do they own 86101 / 87002? But they are used for CS duties / standby?

    GBRF 66s - cleaning

Have GBRF stopped cleaning their fleet? Today I have seen 3 cone up from Kent which were so dirty the numbers were virtually unreadable on 2. The third (I think it was 66730), was so dirty that even the yellow end was gone - only the small number on the front had been cleaned... Seems very...

Chinnor and Princes Risborough Santa Special

So yesterday (Saturday) we took my 5yo son to the C&PR Santa Special. My first time at Chinnor, struck me as a very friendly, charitable place, run by enthusiastic volunteers, and not in the least bit commercialised like some heritage lines have become. Big thanks to those who keep it going...

    Sun 23-Oct - 1345 Euston to Kidderminster

Just noticed this on RTT, any ideas? Timed for electric locomotive at 100mph, running fast line on the WCML.... can't find it on any railtour page...

Monday 03-Oct-16 - Sevington Sidings to Fairwater Yard

I work local to the freight only connection between Kew East Jn and South Acton. Every day, RTT shows up basically the same regular services - some are just paths that are never used, some run regularly. They vary slightly from day to day, but they are basically the same. Occasionally we get...

    Class 47 old times today

So today outside the office on the freight only Kew to South Acton line we had 47815 waiting to head north (dragging a 442?), being passed by WCRC Class 47 headed empty to Windsor... Not too often Class 47s pass each other these days I guess...

    87002 on Footex?

So I've just seen the 11:15 London Euston to Liverpool extra train pass through - assume it's a football special which i see quite regularly when Chelsea are playing away. In the past I've seen it with a DBS Class 90 on the front, today it has 87002. Which got me thinking - if it's being used...
