    With DB losing so much work, a new build is very unlikely. It may well end up the 2nd 66 to be scrapped. It looks pretty bashed up.

    Having spoken to a DB driver, he seems to think that the 1st scrappings could well start this year. It is a shame but many have been o.o.u for years now. The 66's are fine but some of the traffic that they are expected to haul are simply beyond their abilities. A point that was witnessed last...

    Its had the life stripped out of it. Its unlikely ever to work again. Its little more than a shell now.

    I have travelled many miles in both and the Adelante is by far the better. The only gripe with the 180's is the brake scream that is to be heard. Other than that its prob the best modern unit. Popeyes all the way.

    Do the "Tugs" have a place on today's railways? I think they should be fully reinstated. Massively powerful and given the right treatment could be around for years to come.
