    SCR Group Fares

Hi Does anyone know what fares called "SCR Group" are. See http://www.brfares.com/#expert?orig=EDB&dest=GLQ and e.g http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=EDB&dest=GLQ&expert=on&flow=1&multi=0&fare=32&tkt=S01 Are they Scotrail advances or are they special? Why are the called 'Group' fares...

Railguard: Is it legal to claim Delay Repay this way?

I can see the value in that. But I don't believe for one second that this is legal. Fine that you agree with Railguard to be your 'agent' but they MUST be applying to the TOC as YOU, using your name and what? a dummy email address and their own bank details?

Railguard: Is it legal to claim Delay Repay this way?

Has anyone used Railguard https://railguard.co.uk/? Is this legal? Surely a third party collecting compensation on your behalf and entering details into the delay repay forms as you (but with Railguard's bank account details) is highly dubious and liable to be fraud implicated?

Is this a stupid question? - VIA LONDON (again)

I know there are a lot of threads about what LONDON refers to but I'm not referring to that aspect. Swindon to Coventry Route Code 00439

So this might be a stupid question. I always assumed that first the journey plan route is validated (is it direct, shortest path + 3miles, a mapped route) and then if not it sort of gets a second chance by checking if there is an easement that allows the route (and the inverse an easement that...

Swindon to Coventry Route Code 00439

I admit that much of the fares system is still a mystery to me. Take this example: Swindon (Wilts) to Coventry - Daily there are trains at (e.g the 16.41 - 1825) with go with a change at Reading. The first leg is GWR, the second is XC. Now there is a routecode 00439 with is a 'XC &CONNECTIONS'...

    Cross London Minimum Time Validity

Hi I was on raileasy searching for fares between York and Brighton. Its journey planner suggested YRK to KGX then the tube between KGX & VIC and then train again VIC to BTN. For the tube part it said: Change time 30 mins (presumably 15mins interchange time for KGX, 15 for VIC) 11 mins...

    FastJP Journey Planner Now Available

A fantastic achievement. Bravo. Just playing around with the new journey planner whets the appetite for more information. Like: * Why did you develop it? Presumably you see failings in Hafas, Jeppesen, etc. How is this different to them? * What is the technical approach? Is it a time-dependent...
