It would still be a much more direct and shorter route for everyone heading to the station from the Bath Rd or Totterdown area. Also possibly more pleasant, since it bypasses the need to navigate that horrible half-footpath-half-cyclepath concoction on Bath Bridge roundabout which is unpleasant...

There's also the former Kwik Fit site, which IIRC will feature a new MSCP and another entrance to the station via a bridge next to the tracks towards platform 4 ('Southern Gateway')

There will also be new stations on the Henbury spur line, North Filton (YTL arena) and Henbury, which are now scheduled to open in 2026 at the earliest, also with one service per hour for starters (thread), so maybe those could/will be operated together somehow? Another thing to keep in mind...

I think a new MSCP (and also cycle parking) is planned as part of the "Southern Gateway" scheme (with direct access to the station via a pedestrian bridge alongside the tracks). The MSCP would be on the current Kwik Fit site on Bath Road / A4. I don't know if this will include short term parking...

But they have already completed the expensive/intrusive bits like lowering the track in the Box tunnel, right?

Presumably that's "just" Bristol Parkway though? Did they mention anything about Temple Meads?

Does the demolition of the signal box at TM depend on the resignalling work being completed? If yes, does that basically mean it won't be demolished until much later, and the Digby-Wyatt shed won't see new platforms/tracks until much later?

I find it hard to believe that Bristol TM to Parkway along Filton Bank won't be electrified in the first wave, but then I also don't quite see how they're going to finish the Bristol Temple Meads redevelopment in time, seeing that the masterplan is still outstanding. Perhaps the two are not...
