Where are cars still being parked inside major stations? It doesn't really matter if people like it or not, it's still going to go ahead. It is not just bicycles being searched - it is everything within the railway station that could potentially hide something.

The crux of the matter is WCRC broke their own agreed mitigations for not having CDL with the ORR. More than once. If they're breaking the rules on things like that, what else are they up to when people aren't looking?

The only reason WCRC are in this position is that they agreed mitigations with the ORR, ignored them, and were caught more than once. It's not 'elf n safety gone mad' or any other crazy catchphrase that encourages the rest of us to turn a blind eye to lazy and dangerous operators.

You could put the fares up. The trains are full all the time, so scope to increase.

No mention of spending in my post. More around the inability to deliver without confusion, delay and costs soaring. The common denominator in this is Transport Scotland, whichever transport mode is involved.

Potentially time to stop voting for a government that has run out of road. A shake up of Transport Scotland wouldn't go amiss either.

Westminster don't have anything to do with it, it's Transport Scotland who hold the purse strings.

It didn't. The Queen Street issue affected the low level station, not the high level station. The river Tay ovewhelmed the Pitlochry dam, with river levels rising well past safe limits at Dalguise Viaduct south of Pitlochry, so much so that it wasn't safe to run trains on the Highland Main Line

Running an 8 vice 6 car on the 1Y/2Y Shotts, or the Carstairs services could be made to work. It's just sheer laziness not to look at the option to keep punters on trains and give up for 4 days.

That’s a proper railway answer. There’s 16 days to go. Management should be bending over backwards to do it in that time.
