Stations justifying an additional platform if space permitted

Platform 3 at Grantham is now only used during severe disruption or in an emergency. Not exactly sure of the reason, I will ask next time I see/speak to someone who may know. Also if you have a train signalled in to/out of platform 3, then you can't have a train simultaneously enter platform 4...

Engineering work at the south end of the ECML. Advice was to travel St Pancras to Corby, then bus Corby to Grantham and vv. I wonder if EMR managed to ensure the Corby services were all 8 car 360?

    'SG' - Regulation Question

It's not just the train regulation that has gone south since transfer to York ROC. Things like neighbouring signalboxes not being advised of possessions/line blockages that they have granted which go in to another boxes area of control. SBSIs not being followed which then causes problems on...

    New Signalling, ROC's

Yikes! Newly passed out signallers in our area are not allowed anyone with them, training or otherwise, for the first 6 months following passing out.

    New Signalling, ROC's

From my dealings with recent recruits/trainees is that it is the exception to have someone who cares about, or has an interest in the job. For most, it's "just a job" and a general indifference to it. Some have even been surprised that they have to work weekends and shifts.

Sheffield to Chesterfield disruption today 15/12/23

There's 6 booked services (5 passenger and 1 ECS) over the Manton route daily Mon to Fri. I'm guessing they are all crew by Derby men, hence London not getting a look in?
