    Possibly Allan’s of gore bridge?

    Lothian group (Network/Route Speculation)

It was a, tongue in cheek comment, bearing in mind the corpse of the deceased McGills route network is still warm. How about Southern Scottish.

    Bright Bus Airport Express service

Easyjet called, they’re not entirely happy about the orange and white branding.

    Lothian group (Network/Route Speculation)

You could probably call such a division , Eastern Scottish, if you wanted to.

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

There's always the chance that they're trying to do a Guide Friday and get bought out eventually. History has a habit of repeating itself.

    Go South Coast

What a terrible thing to say. It’s extremely unlikely that the driver was doing anything other than driving carefully.

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

I reckon the X38 is ripe for a bit of competition. Maybe not from Lothian but maybe some one else will have a crack at it??

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

Maybe just for once, let them have this one? An increase is still an increase regardless of how much effort was put in, the services must have been run reasonably well to deal with the trade picking up.

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

I would take from that, that cooperation is not possible under current competition legislation.

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

Has this airport service been confirmed or is it all just rumour and speculation at the moment? For all we know these buses could be getting deployed on some university shuttle or competition on the South Queensferry corridor.

Trivia: Preserved Buses which were scrapped

Really informative reply, thank you. Trouble is, I the world of bus enthusiasts there is a big risk of faulty information becoming gospel, depending on who said it and how loudly. Then repeated ad infinitum, and not always accurately, by some who think they are some kind of oracle. There's a...

    First Group: General Discussion

Who cares about registration marks though, passengers certainly don't. Maybe the sale price took account of a saleable plate being on the vehicle.

Trivia: Preserved Buses which were scrapped

A very loose definition of preservation, hoarding might be more appropriate. Invested all the time and money in vehicle acquisitions and transportation, but nothing in dry storage, undercover maintenance facilities, or any actual restoration work.

Trivia: Preserved Buses which were scrapped

Sometimes there are operators who collect a bunch of interesting old vehicles and they become a burden. I am not sure what exactly happened to WJC Coaches but they had a whole load of rare buses and most of them if not all were lost when the company went under.

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

If they haven’t been repainting Livingston based buses over the last year to get rid of the old liveries, then they aren’t going to bother now.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

My first reaction to that statement was, it was an un warranted dig, but factually wrong too and a bit spiteful really. After all LC did a bit of retrenchment after mcgills came along so the opposite of ramping up the competition. They're basically trying to blame others for making what...

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

It's tainted with the stench of failure and worthless as a brand. It should never have been resurrected, let it die off now.

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

Who was it who said that Lothian Country cutting back after McGills bought out First, was a masterstroke? They turned out to be bang on the money.

McGill's Scotland East (Midland Bluebird and Eastern Scottish)

At first I read that as asking are there any buses still in the First livery. As in First the people who used to run them.
