    Stagecoach Group (Group-wide matters)

Yes I would certainly agree that Swindon deserves new Single decker stock however it isn’t justified with recent investment. Gloucester 10 route SHOULD be due a new batch this year as it has hit the usual 6/7 year replacement age. God knows where the previous stock will go..

    GWR Class 800

Yes, but they enitially expected September a few months back but then it was put back again.

    GWR Class 800

GWR are behind on IET testing so they haven’t started testing AC 800s to Swindon yet. It’s now expected to be at least december before we see electric operation at Swindon.

    GWR Class 800

This has been mentioned many times before, but some IETs are not cleared for electric operation. Also, no train run electric between Didcot and Swindon yet.

Keolis Amey Wales - Future Rolling Stock

you don’t need to spread or your messages, and use quotes so it makes sense.

    GWR Class 800

When it goes hourly they will run five car units probably with a 9car in the mix as well. Peak times will be all 9cars. Sunday is also going hourly apparently. 5cars will also be used on the Coltswoods and some Bristol services when it goes 4tph.

    GWR Class 800

Yes they were, and that was the original plan before 9car were changed to bimode.

    GWR Class 800

10 car IETs have now been labelled a no go area for Swindon- Cheltenham now due to all sorts of issues. Apparently there is now one with the sidings at Cheltenham.

Bristol Parkway to London Paddington journey times

Lets four track Swindon - Didcot before in cab signalling is introduced.

    GWR Class 800

I made a suggestion with no context and thinking about it isn’t very practical. 9 into ten could be an idea.

    GWR Train Manager

I’m up the M5 atcually, not as bad as any other place getting into Bristol. I am prepared to drive in as early and as late as required, but also using public transport where possible.

    GWR Train Manager

I am prepared as it’s only 39bminutes down the motorway to Bristol, and to Worcester. I also have hourly train links to Bristol from 5am to around 11pm if my duties fell inside that bracket. Thanks for your comments.

Bristol Parkway to London Paddington journey times

I’m starting to loose my rag with people who compare the planned new timetables with the 35 year old ones. Firstly, ATP didn’t exist. With HST power they could have done 130, 135 if the driver didn’t really care. So could the 800s do 135, 140 on electric if it was permitted. As well as that...

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

If I come across as a rookie, sorry, but RTT displays it’s a Stoke Gifford ender on the 03/09, and on the 02/09 it’s a Philips Marsh. Is this just the planned or would it have not reverted? (1742 Paddington Cheltenham)

    GWR Train Manager

Hi all, I would like to ask a few questions as I might apply for a job with GWR for Train Manager when one pops up. 1. Do you change crew en route? 2. How often do you work early/lates? 3. Do they cater for those from outside the area not to work really late/ really early trains? 4. How...

    GWR Class 800

I’d say five into nine with a buffet, and then if enough money 9 into 10.

    GWR Class 800

This thread is a loop. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Let’s come up with something new, let’s talk about the hard seats. No one had mentioned it yet. :D

    GWR Class 800

Sounds like a great idea. Next franchise they better improve the food offering, and possibly hire more customer hosts to fulfill such offering, and a more “value for money” first class service. I would love to see the lengthening of the trains, and I would expect that many people would. I...

    GWR Class 800

^ adding to above, in an ideal world with 4x customer hosts required on the 10 cars you could run a trolley selling drinks and some snacks. I am also told by a Customer Host that first class is a much more preferable environment to work in now and sometimes if he’s at the very front or very...

    GWR Class 800

No you are not in a minority (elsewhere), this forum just seems to be in support of the trains. I am split 50/50. I like the buffet and the “comfort” of the HST, but the train itself is not exactly perfect. If they built more as 9 coaches, added a buffet and maybe softened the seats, worked the...
