    Ordering only classic compatible trains is a good idea, and I would stop HS2 to Manchester at Crewe, potentially rebuilding Macclesfield station, while also grade separating the junctions to the south of Stockport station.     What is your Favorite line.

    Probably one of the two main transpennine routes. The S and C comes in close, but only the southern section across the viaducts. I don't like the WCML. Southern section is a bit drab.

    Is it a mistake for FTPE to order the 397 / 802 / MK5 trains?

    fTPE should have just gone for a standardised mk5 / 802 fleet on North TPE in my opinion. Much simpler and you don't have two incompatible fleets running the same services. Maybe even the Manchester to Cleethorpes as well.
