    Second Anglian Loco Hauled Set

But the units are just left in the sidings at Norwich after 19:00 - they aren't required until about 05:45 the next day.

    Renewal of Railpass (Merseyrail)

Just buy the ticket from the self service machine (if there is one?) I wouldn't exactly imagine it's difficult. Whatever the destination prints on the ticket normally, just type into the machine. That BRFares website shows quite a few "MRAIL" areas/zones, so I'd type MRAIL into the machine...

    Seating Plans- Wheelchair space location

If the ticket is discounted for being a wheelchair user, she is not entitlted to a seat and must remain in the wheelchair. If the ticket is full fare - she can get assistance on/off and sit anywhere.

    Overseas Disabled Passengers

That card will mean absolutely nothing in the UK. Make a (free) seat reservation at least the day before - if possible. Otherwise, if you don't have an obvious disability, it is unlikely that anyone will give their seat up for you sadly. Nobody is specifically entitled to a priority seat on a...

    Sheffield to Prestatyn

You can get it slightly cheaper by going via Derby, with a time penalty. Sheffield - Derby CDR is £11.30 Derby - Prestatyn CDR is £26.70 Total £38.00.

Trial of of paper receipts for tickets issued on board the train

Apparently East Midlands Trains are sticking with orange tickets. I was speaking to a Senior Conductor lately who told me they even have a specific manager for the replacement ticket system, strangely based at Norwich...

    Season Ticket Issue

There will be a £10 admin fee applied to any part-refund, so no. You did agree to the purchase, so you have no recourse.

Do I have to go via London?

Worksop to Plymouth has two routes: NOT VIA LONDON +ANY PERMITTED If you buy the +ANY PERMITTED ticket you can go via London (or on XC) in both directions. If you buy the NOT VIA LONDON ticket, you will need a change of route excess for the outward portion.

Trying it on ... and failing

Surely a Penalty Fare is still a valid fare for a journey, just a higher priced one? If a court can order a defendant to pay compensation for an Anytime fare, (when at the time an Off Peak ticket would have sufficed), I see no reason why a Penalty Fare is not the fare lawfully due if the...

Refused Delay Repay by TransPennine Express

Didn't look too hard then. ATW isn't listed in the participating operators: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/pr93c0eaeb9d4653b48ac9b0307154fb.aspx

Season ticket expired by one day

I have had to give my details for quite a few 7 day season tickets. They scan the photocard barcode and my details appear. I sometimes get given a receipt with my name, house number and postcode on it to check.

Season ticket expired by one day

Are you saying the booking office staff took your details or that one of the barrier/revenue staff did? Both do have the powers to report you for the criminal offence of travelling without a valid ticket, so doesn't really make much difference BUT - Booking office staff normally need to take...

    Chasing Feedback

You're joking, right?! Sending them a SAR to get your interview notes will put a big red flag above your head. You just need to accept the decision and move on. Nobody has grounds for a re-interview / reassessment - regardless of the circumstances. Their decision has been made, and jobs...

    Skegness Summer HSTs

A lot of EMT routes require summer strengthening. Peterborough-Norwich is often full and standing in the summer holidays, with holidaymakers travelling to Great Yarmouth.

    GEML franchise 2016

I can't see the Greater Anglia franchise taking over the Liverpool-Norwich route - what I can see is a joint staffing arrangement, whereby the Norwich staff are transferred into the GA franchise, and relieve EMT crew at Peterborough etc. From my regular travels, it appears as though the EMT...

    Peak Time Restictions - Merseyside

The City Line, as far as I can see, covers: London Midland (Liverpool-Liverpool South Parkway) East Midlands Trains (Liverpool-Liverpool South Parkway-Hunts Cross*-Hough Green*) Arriva Trains Wales (Earlestown - Newton le Willows). Northern (Liverpool-Garswood/Hough Green/Newton le Willows)...

My guess is "North(ern) Yard" and "South Sidings". Completely a guess though!

    GR route learning / retention

    They won't be using a Class 43 that's for sure! I imagine they'll use a freight locomotive (Class 67).
