Tickets accepted on all other reasonable routes due to issues - Guard says nope

I've appealed it which got denied the same day. Is there a way to appeal an appeal? :O

Tickets accepted on all other reasonable routes due to issues - Guard says nope

I did put in a delay repay which got denied because they did that thing where they claimed the train before the one I selected was so late, it "became" my next train all be it delayed, which was then "only" 14 minutes late. I doubt I would have even been able to get on this as it would have been...

Tickets accepted on all other reasonable routes due to issues - Guard says nope

At the time, hardly any trains were even coming in/out of Waterloo. The route you mention is feasible though yes. In some respects it can take longer actually than the route I took when continued disruption is expected and affecting all SWR trains, not to mention that it's a slow route anyway...

Tickets accepted on all other reasonable routes due to issues - Guard says nope

I do. Yes. That's exactly what I said. Indeed.

Tickets accepted on all other reasonable routes due to issues - Guard says nope

Sorry I meant barrier staff not the guards. 1658342808 Oh is that so? Perhaps I am mistaken then apologies. If this is the case then that makes sense, but I disagree with it. I would like to see barrier staff use common sense and allow SWR customers to use any GWR out of Paddington which is...

Tickets accepted on all other reasonable routes due to issues - Guard says nope

Over many years of travelling in and out of Waterloo on South Western Railway, you all know we get those days where it all goes wrong. Emergency incidents, broken down trains etc etc. The ones like last week on Thursday 14th July where there has been a casualty of such between Clapham and...

Easement not allowing me through the gate?

I asked a different guard about this, this morning as he let me through the barrier. He said if you enter the barrier at 09:05 onwards it works with off peak tickets. I said that's convenient for the 09:04. He smiled.

    Oyster readers - Clapham Junction

Out of interest, how does that even work then? Surely to buy a ticket you would need to exit through a barrier first to then buy the one stop ticket?

    Oyster readers - Clapham Junction

Ok thanks. Arouse suspicion? If somebody tapped out and then went inside to get another train without a valid ticket, there are not many stations left with no gates on exit now so I'd be surprised they don't see this fairly often at Clapham.

Easement not allowing me through the gate?

Thanks for the info on this one. Going forward...there is nothing I can to to prevent this happening then? What about the Aldershot station...can they correct this behaviour or are we talking an impossibility here as it's coded into the entire system and would be a centralised change? What about...

    Oyster readers - Clapham Junction

This morning I travelled into Clapham on South Western Railway from Aldershot using a weekly season ticket, then I changed to use the over ground out of platform 2. First time I did this to avoid using the tube due to strikes today. I did not pass through a barrier so just got on the over ground...

Easement not allowing me through the gate?

Travelling from Aldershot to London Waterloo, there is a train each morning at 09:04 arriving at London Waterloo for 09:59. I believe there is an easement in place which allows the purchase of off peak return tickets for this train. Normally it would only be on trains that arrive at Waterloo...

What ticketing method would you use if returning to work for 1-2 days per week office travel?

I've not come across carnets before. From a quick google, they don't seem to apply to me as are only select locations it seems?

What ticketing method would you use if returning to work for 1-2 days per week office travel?

We all have become accustomed to receiving the best ticket prices when buying season tickets since it is basically buying in bulk. This obviously encourages people to travel MORE and get their moneys worth. From September this model will no longer fit a large proportion of the population where a...

    Season ticket refund

Checking for fraud of swapping via changeover to a perfectly valid ticket? ;) Interesting. Let's see how they get on with that one.

    Season ticket refund

Could not edit post so quoting it. Had a go at the changeover calculation as I see it based on what I read. This is changing over to the lowest cost annual season on south western railway based on a forum post I read on here, which is Dockyard to Devenport @ £128 If I do the changeover now I...

    Season ticket refund

I've genuinely tried reading up on threads on here and around the forum and it just leaves me more confused as to how to work this out, when people start talking about base rates and period factors etc. If anyone can advise how I can work out whether to get a refund vs changeover I'd be...

South Western Railway disruption [11 December 2017]

Does anyone know why these days were not declared VOID by SWR?

SWR Delay Repay on Season Ticket Holders

For customers who purchased (or renewed) their annual season ticket on SWR before 4th September 2017, the old passenger charter compensation methods still apply. Having read SWR website today, my interpretation of this is as follows: Customers in possession of an annual season ticket purchased...

Smart Card Ticket Barrier Event Logging

When an individual goes through a barrier using a Smart Card, say on South Western network, and also on TFL barriers, what information is logged on an individual? Is it: a) Nothing, the barrier simply checks if the smart card is valid and allows/denies entry b) Date and time stamp is logged to...
