Trivia: Major cities which don't have any electrified lines, on the National Rail network?

Lol fair point, it's a relatively well known destination at least.

Should TfL Consider building a 3rd Platform at Highbury and Islington?

Anecdotally the New Cross trains are very obviously the least used of the four services, but I figure there might be more passengers once the new housing developments are well underway at Surrey Quays, since the Northbounds from New Cross will present themselves there mostly empty in the...

    DLR B23 Stock (CAF Inneo)

Given the DLUHC funds also have a specific per-project approval process I'm sure central government are quite alright with this use of money to massively enhance passenger rail capacity in the area where 14,000 more homes are being built.

The B07s can also be run in twos instead of threes if you wanted to do a refurbishment programme, given there are a lot of them running around in twos at the moment on many DLR routes this wouldn't represent much if any of a reduction in service vs today especially when the B23s have landed.

Class 701 'Aventra' trains for South Western Railway

TfL rail was supposed to be a far more temporary brand that it eventually ended up being, given the Elizabeth Line was supposed to open in 2018.

    Class 710 LO

There's no reason why these would have to run using 378s or 710s, especially given London Bridge post-rebuild can cope with 10 or 12 cars trains in all of its terminal platforms. The ELL capacity upgrade originates long before the pandemic, the idea is to raise the core frequency from 16tph to...

When do you think the 710/3s are likely to fully move to the NLL?

Class 701 'Aventra' trains for South Western Railway

You get "LNER Azuma service to ..." at Kings Cross as well. I guess branded train types to be the belle du jour for the TOCs. Still whatever the name is, good to see them out and about finally.

I've read various reports that a clever suspension design is supposed to reduce it.

    2024 Tube Stock (Siemens Inspiro)

Indeed, I was just observing that TfL don't seem to think there's any need for transverse seating for journeys of less than an hour, as for whether that meets with the approval of everyone, well clearly not, but if the compromise is having only longitudinal seating so there's enough floor space...

Even if the Bakerloo went back to Watford, the journey time would still be well under that from the outer parts of the Central, District or Piccadilly Lines which are 100% longitudinal.

Sure 48 years old, but the interview Geoff Marshall did with one of the CLIP project managers suggested the trains had been 'stripped down to their frames' with wiring, computers, lighting replaced, as well as the traction motors. Might extend them significantly?

Car on Track near Motspur Park — Major Disruption to SWR Suburban Services

I dunno. Rubber car tyres aren't great conductors to begin with, and generally cars are deliberately designed as a faraday cage so any electricity is conducted around the outside of the shell. This is mainly a protection against lightning strikes but might have protected the passengers in this...

Car on Track near Motspur Park — Major Disruption to SWR Suburban Services

Why on earth has it taken them hours to move a car from track immediately adjacent to a level crossing?

    2024 Tube Stock (Siemens Inspiro)

You can hear the motor noise in some of the videos covering the testing in Germany, e.g. this one: I think the best capture of the noise is from around 1:00 in. They seem quite quiet and unremarkable at speed, but I can't find a clip of one stopping or starting, so I'm not sure if they'll...
