    Aviation Discussion

Although it is listed as a decrease, the route itself is actually gaining seats - as AA is adding a daily 777-200 from Phoenix to Heathrow from the end of March until the end of October.

It is no secret. Primera. It is already on their website.

    156s on Liverpool-Norwich

153's very occasionally appear too. I got a 156 and 153 combo maybe three years ago.

Grand National 2013 - any additional workings?

Now most services on the route are 2x158 (320 seats) they may not bother. A 7 car 222 is only 20 seats more? On the two busiest services we have 640 Cl158 seats vs in previous years a 222 and a 158 combined total of 500 seats. Is my maths way out? Or were the 158s on the route strengthened in...

Northern employee accused of stealing Kindle from probation officier

It just means that handling stolen goods is more likely for a successful prosecution, not that it wasn't 'stolen'.

Near 24/7 railway, potential for another grayrigg??

Ah - based on a TV show then. Just the same as having no knowledge.

Near 24/7 railway, potential for another grayrigg??

Can you back this up with facts, or let us know what knowledge of all the heavy plant you have to make such a sweeping statement? Or are you just scaremongering?

    First time on Class 185

Strangely lined up as in almost all seats have a window?

    First time on Class 185

Totally irrelevant as the 185's run to the same times due to much superior acceleration.

Article in Rail Professional about Merseyrail Fatality

Quite simply, if your defence is that you pondered for a few seconds whilst travelling at 20mph then you should not be in the job. That is what a jury would think and not necessarily my opinion of course. Therefore it is not a very good example.

    First time on Class 185

How about putting them on the floor or on overhead racks (if they fit)? What a total overreaction.

    Manchester Airport to Cleethorpes service.

Has there ever been any formal or official suggestions of splitting the route, other than if electrification was to take place over part of the route? Other than if that was to happen, all I have ever seen is fantasy TOC planning by enthusiasts.

Missed train due to platform alteration (Was Despicable treatment by EC)

I'm not sure what being a flying instructor has to do with anything. Can you confirm which train you were trying to catch as it doesn't appear to exist? There is some wonderful irony in your last sentence.

    Class 319's Brochure

I know. In the context of the thread I thought it was clear that my point was the cascade was to Northern as opposed to Merseyrail, not that Northern were getting them all.

    Class 319's Brochure

It doesn't depend on the cascade at all. The cascade is to Northern. Merseyrail has already recruited someone in a role to manage the procurement of new stock and has already invited expressions of interest from manufactures. They will almost certainly need steerable axis on the bogies too...

    Class 319's Brochure

Makes more sense to show them in a current livery than one they would never wear in the future surely.
