    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

It is unusual. As far as I can see only the M7, wholly funded by East Renfrewshire Council, is the same. Possibly developer funding given both serve new estates. It is tricky to interpret as it seems to be two services in one. A local service for Dargavel and Bishopton and a link between...

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

McGill's operating a new service on behalf of Renfrewshire Council - 514 which runs from Bishopton through the Dargarvel village development to Braehead via the M8 motorway. Timetable PDF - https://www.spt.co.uk/media/iopnoub2/service-514.pdf

    Routing Edinburgh <> Inverness

As mentioned by others you get gaps in the service. There is also nothing southbound from Inverness to Glasgow between 09:42 and 14:50. There are 2 trains to Edinburgh in between, both give connections at Stirling Platform 3 to trains form Aberdeen to Queen Street within 5-10 minutes. Perth is a...

LNER proposal to withdraw Stirling and Glasgow Central direct services: what do you think should happen?

The key issue for me is that the paths that transferred from LNER to Crosscountry haven't been reintroduced. I still maintain that connections, no matter how frequent the Scotrail service, is unattractive and there should be a Glasgow-North East direct service.

    Formula 1

I think it was a bit 50/50. Albon got better drive and I don't think Ricciardo expected him to be there as he took the racing line.

Strathclyde SPT Bus Reform / Franchising

If I was a bus company I'd probably welcome some idea of franchising. Run your business with fixed income. It wouldn't depend on fare box income, roadworks or changes in passenger flows if something closes etc.

    East Kilbride/Barrhead electrification updates

From shot 6 there really isn't a lot of clearance in that arch bridge to the top of a 156 unit!

    East Kilbride/Barrhead electrification updates

This is unsurprising. The length of closure is very long, a large area is being cut off from bus services, the bus diversions are less than idea and lengthy (10-15 minutes at least to do what is currently 2-3 minutes). The official diversion routes are going to be largely ignored in favour of...

Strathclyde SPT Bus Reform / Franchising

I can't see how you manage that. From scratch that's a huge undertaking and are you going head to head with current operators who no doubt will respond? Even if you buy an existing operator at cost to set up a company, how do you help improve fares and coordination Strathclyde wide? Franchising...

That looks to be a particularly nasty incident. Hope all those hurt recover.

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

Saw this vehicle today. It looks nice, but what's the branding on the back? Looked like a 60 but not sure what that is advertising?

Personally I think he should be in ahead of Ricciardo who apart from being media friendly hasn't done much since his return.

St Andrews Transport Study - rail link option

Transformational is in the eye of the beholder I guess. There are several things in Strategic Transport Projects Review 2 which are listed as transformational. Personally, some of the work on early phases of Clyde Metro would be very much that - light rail connection to Glasgow Airport and...

St Andrews Transport Study - rail link option

It seems a non-starter for me - the LRT also sounds the better option but then the isolated units is an issue,.

    Formula 1

I get where you are coming from but it is often easier to look back and find positives. I find both the current era and the Mercedes one a hard watch and I couldn't buy in to Rosberg / Hamilton the same way as when there was the team rivalry at play. Last year however was the worst season since...

    Formula 1

I find both eras boring. It seems to me that for whatever reason, be it cost cap / testing restrictions / aero limits etc, teams cant catch up like years ago. Back in 1998, McLaren lapped the field at the first race and nearly the same in 2nd race. 3rd race Ferarri won and we had a fairly good...

    East Kilbride/Barrhead electrification updates

Clarkston looks no worse than others with land either side. You might have some impact when you start having to regrading existing to tie in, and it might be fairly steep but off-line looks possible. Most of the time period is to deal with services (utilities) which are pretty complex to move...

    Supermarkets discussion

I've found that Aldi since installing self checkouts are pretty disinclined to open manned checkouts. I've been directed through with trolleys etc to use self checkout and haven't come across 20 item limit. I was near 40 items last week with no issues.
