    Uber ticketing

I just did exactly the same thing - very frustrating! You have to add the gift card at the point of purchasing the train tickets, rather than beforehand. When you come to pay, you can select gift card at that point. NB you can also use Uber Money for Uber Eats orders - for me this will be more...

    Uber ticketing

I got a reply: "I am sorry to hear that you did not receive the 10% cashback for any of your recent trips. The cashback promotion is still going, but currently there is an issue with the system, and the cashbacks are not provided to the customers. Uber are aware of the problem, and they are...

I've had the same thing. Is there a way of contacting Uber or whichever third party they use for these ticket sales?

    SMS/App notifications for disruptions

I think this app definitely looks like what I'm after but I'm afraid I'm not looking for something requiring monthly payments. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions so far

    SMS/App notifications for disruptions

I agree that an app alert at 6am daily would not be useful. What I'm looking for is an app alert at the instant that my train is marked as delayed or cancelled. I have a 15 min walk to my local station and several back up options for getting to work - if I get an alert while I'm walking it...

    SMS/App notifications for disruptions

Hi all I'm due to start a new commute into London soon, where I will likely take the same train each morning. Rather than checking an app/website every morning, I was hoping to find an app/service which could send me a text or a notification if a) my specific train is late or cancelled or b)...

Is it worth having an Oyster anymore for me?

Busses don’t have peak times associated with them - all bus fares count towards the off peak cap.

Hi, I’m currently training and am being paid both the London allowance and the local area supplement. Suggest you get in touch with payroll!

London Underground services on National Rail Journey Planners/Live Departures - best approach?

Thanks for the info. It does feel like on the outer branches where service is infrequent that option 2 would be better - for example on the Met line. Perhaps depending on whether the service is classed as ‘turn up and go’ or not (I think this is usually defined as 6tph or higher).

London Underground services on National Rail Journey Planners/Live Departures - best approach?

Hello, For the purpose of this post I am considering Outer London NR stations where London Underground also serves the station, either using the same platforms as 'mainline' trains or adjacent ones. I've noticed two approaches to how this is integrated on the National Rail journey planner/live...

I’d suggest searching the thread for ‘relief’ and ‘Basingstoke’ as there’s a lot of info that has been posted before! I’m also due to start as a relief signaller next month (not in Basingstoke though). Essentially it means that we will know when our rest days (days off) are, but we don’t find...

Thank you. How about when you’ve finished IST but are still training in your box? My understand is during this time you are working mostly Monday to Friday - do you work bank holidays at this point or not? Obviously I know after passing out I will be on a roster with working bank holidays. Many...

Merry Christmas all! Does anyone know what happens with IST over the Easter bank holiday? Mine starts at the end of March so just wondering if we get the bank holidays off or if we plough straight through. Same for the May bank holidays. If we get bank holidays off does this then delay the end...

Why is Fenchurch Street numbered "backwards" and other examples

Kings cross is also in reverse with platform 0 on the right and higher platforms to the left. Would also be interested in the logic!

Crossrail - Through Running confirmed for November

This looks so much clearer. The branches to Liverpool Street and Paddington high level clutter it up so much, and confuse the notion of it being a core railway through the centre.

Crossrail - Through Running confirmed for November

I rode the line westbound on Wednesday and made a few observations (some have already been stated). Firstly the positives: - when I visited everything was running like clockwork. It felt like a clean, safe, modern railway fit for the future. Appreciate that I was travelling off peak and...
