Belmont Line to be doubled - funding available

Worth bearing in mind also is that the new Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (part of Epsom and St Helier Trust) is due to be built on the site in the next 10 years also, so it will become a lot lot busier.

    Saw it, said it, sorted?

    Context is everything.

    Saw it, said it, sorted?

As I'm sure you're aware (and are simply milking for the sake of pedantry) "oh" is quite commonly substituted in for zero when announcing phone numbers. In fact, in this context the Oh is actually derived as a shortening of Zero, rather than from the letter.

    Above ground tube maps

If you just look on google maps and toggle the Public Transport layer on (bottom left of screen), it'll give you a fairly decent idea also.

The Construction of the Elizabeth Line being a "national joke"

For those dying to be let in on the mystery, Jago is Harry Beck in this Jay Foreman vid:

Have railways became too expensive to build/improve?

I've no particular horse in this race, but presumably HSTed is referring to situations of indirect impact - i.e. the risk of deaths from continued air pollution from trucks for the additional years a rail transport project isn't completed etc etc. Obviously, v hard to quantify! + I don't think...

TfL contactless - enter/exit same station

Good to know for future! ty!

    EMR Class 360's

I suppose you want caviar and champagne too?!

TfL contactless - enter/exit same station

Yeah, I see what you mean. I suppose I wasn't considering it as a deterrent, and was instead thinking of it being a means to stop a particular behaviour entirely... mybad!

TfL contactless - enter/exit same station

I don't see how a maximum fare fixes that tho? If it gets tapped twice, you're back "out" of the station, so the journey would be invalid anyway?

Teenagers enter the London Overground train cab and play with the driver's switches

For anyone interested - it's an absolutely wild story: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darius_McCollum

TfL contactless - enter/exit same station

I think we may have established whether that remains the case or not then!! Tbh I'm not overly fussed about reclaiming the additional £1.90 from them; I was just a bit confused as to why I'd been charged anything at all. Admittedly, I didn't time the 2 minutes other than from keeping an eye...

TfL contactless - enter/exit same station

I'm afraid I must disagree! Last week I touched in on a standalone reader at Hackney Wick with my contactless bank card (well, phone) (the barriers were open and not functioning); seeing that the next train to stratford was not due for another 25 minutes due to a few cancellations, my partner...

Teenagers enter the London Overground train cab and play with the driver's switches

So the real problem was another passenger who thought it entertaining to wind up a young person who must've been clearly identifiable (from your rather unkind description of "problem child") as having additional support needs... What a charmer.

    Potential Service Brand Names

You've definitely thought this through, and I'm semi-convinced by it, but I unfortunately don't believe that the sort of organisation and co-ordination to get this sort of thing running reliably and smoothly exists currently :/

Conflicting information between platform and train - which one to trust?

I'd be fuming to end up in Peterborough too....

    Potential Service Brand Names

Is it, though? An off-peak fare from Kings Cross to Edinburgh on LNER is still the same no matter what you call the train, and they're hardly struggling to sell them. If there are particularly under-used services then reduce the price to a point that people find acceptable to persuade them onto...

    Potential Service Brand Names

I really don't get the idea of bringing back (or increasing the number of) named trains at all. For all the talk on here about confusing information on departure boards/announcements and how the railway needs to be clearer, there certainly seems a lot of support for adding extra irrelevant...
