    Future preservation of modern trains

Subjective really. I'd say the old SR third rail units are far more utilitarian-looking than newer stuff, and 66s don't sound that bad.

Ex Virgin Trains Voyagers, where could they go next?

    Crosscountry or Iran. End of.

If you could go back in time and save at least one Train, what would it be?

    HS4000 (Kestrel) or a MR Johnson 2F (either 58185 or 58271)

When were train drivers banned from smoking in the cab?

On second thought, I better stop soon before I randomly lamp someone outside a pub as that’s what’ll happen, apparently!

When were train drivers banned from smoking in the cab?

Wibble. Would much rather smell of cig smoke than Turds or BO. Some people...

Azuma Power Sockets - no power through neutral sections

Big deal, not all laptops do that when charging stops.

DfT and CrossCountry rule out surplus HST’s as a capacity relief

In last month’s issue of modern railways, there was a comparison of CO2 emissions for different units and Voyagers came out on top as the worst. Can’t remember the actual stats tho and I don’t have the article to hand.

Unbelievable, Entitlement at its worst... (couple refuse to move out of clearly reserved seats)

Probably no one. When was the last time anyone was offended by that expression?

Double line stations in the steam era without a goods yard in the station environs?

Bournville (obviously not Southern region!) Nearest goods facilities were at the Cadbury exchange sidings to the North and Lifford/ Kings Norton to the South.

GWR has published a national railway network map !

You don't need a signal if you've already downloaded the file. If it's taking ages to download/open then that means you've got a crap phone by the sounds of things.

passenger confusion over trains going to similar sounding destinations

Makes me wonder if anyone has ever got Mottingham and Nottingham mixed up.

Tagging old stock onto freight services

    No. Not gonna happen.

    Karaoke. Why, just why??

How can you not like any music?

    Karaoke. Why, just why??

    Indeed.

    Karaoke. Why, just why??

    Bit of fun. Lighten up.

The Terror of Class 153 Rail Travel

    They're not that bad.

    DMU drags

Some DMU's were dragged up the Lickey incline by steam locos as banking them wasn't permitted.

Virgin Trains (VTWC) new livery being introduced

Looks better without the naff looking silk effect. Shame the old Virgin livery is almost extinct on the 390s as it still looks fresh, but it obviously makes sense to ditch it.
