Stations rebranded to Great British Railways design / Rail Alphabet 2

I quite like it. About the only thing I would change would be the length of the arrow arms, which I'd shorten.

Passengers denied boarding at Blackpool North?

I was there on a Sunday evening last November and was held, along with the other passengers, in the circulating area until a couple of minutes before departure.

    Foreign OTT/RTT-style maps and timings.

My thanks again, especially to 'jamesontheroad' for the Swedish site.

Thanks for the replies. Nice to have something different to look at.

    Foreign OTT/RTT-style maps and timings.

Thank you. Interesting to see cameras marked on the map too.

    Norway

I watch a lot of these too and like you would love to go there and do the journeys myself. Have you seen the Norwegian state TV videos of Trondheim to Bodo? IIRC they last about 9 hours each - they have done one in winter, summer etc, and one where it's been edited and takes place in all...

    Foreign OTT/RTT-style maps and timings.

I have asked this in the thread on UK signalling maps but thought I'd ask here. Is there any other country (specifically European) that has publicly available maps and timings? I know it's sad, but I love just sitting watching the trains moving around on the maps, and as I watch a lot of...

    Live signalling diagrams

Going slightly off-topic, are there any other countries (European) that have publicly available maps and times, like OTT and RTT etc.?

    Live signalling diagrams

Quite a few stations missing - I just looked for Ely (my local station) to find it not listed. Same for Cambridge. Yet Waterbeach (between the other two) was!

    What's your latest acquisition?

Nor me, but as I had seen this at OOC open day a while back, and it was in BR blue, I thought I'd make an exception LOL

    What's your latest acquisition?

Hattons 66789 was the last thing I bought. A bit out of my BR blue timescale, but at least it's blue!

Trivia: The train to 'XXX', calling at 'XXX'

Great Northern (at Kings Cross), used to announce the destination of stopping trains to Cambridge as Foxton. This was also indicated on the display screens.

    German Railways - Lineside Signs.

Thank you EAD. Them's the boys.

    German Railways - Lineside Signs.

I tend to watch a lot of cab ride videos, and on the German ones, I often see yellow V and upside-down V signs, always in close proximity to each other, and for the life of me, I cannot work out what they mean. Can anyone enlighten me please?

Why are people opposed to HS2? (And other HS2 discussion)

If HS2 is at OOC, why not run the line into Paddington instead of Euston?

    FGW : First Class Offerings?

As 455Driver said, you really should try it ainsworth74. Expensive yes but beautiful food. I'd do it again tomorrow if I didn't have to work. One thing that really impressed Sue (and me too if I'm honest) is that after leaving Penzance I went to get a (free) coffee and asked the chap in the...

    FGW : First Class Offerings?

Thanks to ainsworth74 - the menu was correct. Belly pork it was (for me) and Sue had the fillet steak. All meals were excellent and the staff could not be faulted. There was only one sitting each way. Definitely recommended.

    FGW Pullman dining experience

Did the 1006 ex Paddington to Par a couple of weeks ago (the Wednesday the strike was to start) in First Class. Had Brunch on the way down, and very nice it was too. Staff were very friendly. The following week we were on the 1047 Penzance to Paddington. Went to buffet to get a coffee and asked...

Trivia: Last thing you ate on a train

Belly pork dinner followed by apple crumble - in FGW Pullman dining car between Plymouth and Paddington. Very nice too!

FGW contingency in the event of industrial action 8th-11th July 2015

Thanks for the info. We were due to travel on the Thursday but now hope to go on the Wednesday. I rang FGW customer support but got the call centre in India and they knew nothing and suggested I ring the day before travelling. Not much use when I have to arrange accommodation as well. So now...
