If they went to that much trouble painting half of 42942 in what looks to be one of the blues from the Olympia livery, why not go the full distance and paint it all in the livery it’s supposed to be in?

Bodmin used to run 3 school contracts and still does as far as I know? Padstow was only used as an outstation for the A5 & 212/219 Truro college services and the seasonal P&R.

they were mothballed at Falmouth for a while before the schools reopened partially and have been helping out there since. With no short 35’s running as originally planned there isn’t really anywhere they fit in on the regular service fleet especially now with all the Gemini’s here alongside the...

Tridents 33002 & 33153 both up for sale on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dennis-Trident/174331013707 33153 was retrofitted to Euro 5 spec during its time in London hence the higher book value

The solo’s still need to make back the investment made in them, no point having new buses parked up doing nothing.

Some of them were retrofitted with the later Cummins ISBe engine which sound not too dissimilar to the three 08 plate E400's in the fleet. 33153, 65 & 73 had this done including 33052 although sadly we know how that ended :'( either way whatever engine is in the back a Trident will leave a B7TL...

all depot's bar Penzance, Falmouth, Camborne & Summercourt are temporarily shutting down after this weekend so expect to see a lot more buses moving around.

couldn't agree more with everything you've said there. Looking at the timetable that First have registered it looks like it fits around Truro College duties as Helston has 3 college buses (230,234 & 235 to Truro) which do nothing during the daytime. There are 4 ELC Trident's painted in the...

The Helston - Lizard service is definitely being enhanced with First running an hourly service from Truro via Helston to The Lizard during the day time with Citybus increasing the current frequency of every 2 hours from Redruth - The Lizard to hourly as well as bringing the late bus back. True...

Let’s not forget the general public aren’t loosing out here as it’s very much the intention of the council and PCB to enhance the current services already in place as well as adding to those with new ones. As for First K’s commercial network that is something that can only get better as those...

The tinner services are commercial and only require subsidising by the council for a few trips in the evening. The contract is for subsidised services only although that’s not to say they can’t start up their own commercial services. Right now their main priority is to get drivers and vehicles...

without slating the hard work that First’s cleaners put in every day and I’m sure they have a very concise timescale to adhere to, this was the inside of an Enviro 200MMC I travelled on this afternoon. You’re telling me this was all from a day’s service?.....

First Southwest MD and the man behind transforming First's fortunes here in Cornwall over the last few years Alex Carter was down in Summercourt this afternoon along with his 2nd in command Marc Morgan Huws, no doubt reassuring and informing staff as to any potential changes with regard to...

yes I know that you're missing the point I'm trying to make!! Anyone from the outside looking to visit the area will naturally be drawn to the bus depending on the livery and where its advertising, having a Lizard bus or one of the Coasters off route just creates confusion especially for...

Even more reason to have route branded buses on the exact routes they are advertised for! ;-)

Plenty of 'odd' workings out and about in west Cornwall today with 2 Atlantic Coaster Trident's 33233 & 33242 on the L1's, Lizard Solo's 53252 & 53254 on the 39's and Trident 32760 which now wears the unbranded Lizard colours on the A17. Makes you wonder with all the investment that's been made...

3 of them (42872,73&76) were parked around the back of the Penzance depot today along with the 3 former truronian Solo's so it appears their time is up here now :frown: 42874 is still in service tho and was out doing A17's & A1's  although I cant imagine that has long left either

I'm fairly confident the vast majority of the general public see more 'Pretty service buses' going around then the odd trainer! Keeping a tidy smart fleet that encourages people to use the bus which in turn pays for the company to recruit more drivers is the better option you'd think....

good to hear Kernow have prioritised branding up their trainer fleet while there are still repainted buses going around in service without any branding! With it being half term and surplus buses being available due to no schools or colleges you'd think this week would be an ideal opportunity to...
