I didn’t apply for Abargavenny however I did apply for Little Mill which is the same area and advertised exactly the same time. Still not heard anything since the online status updated to under consideration on 8th January.

That’s only my experience and I may be very wrong.

In my limited experience if it goes from “Test Completed” to “Application Under Consideration” it’s a no no and a waiting game until it updates to “Application Unsuccessful”. It needs to go straight from “Test Completed” to “Application Under Consideration For Assessment 2” for it to be a...

Definitely in with more of a chance with 5 vacancies however it all depends how much internal interest there is I guess. Not too sure how it works but if they say fill 4 of the jobs internally then our chances are a bit slimmer.

I’ve applied for the Cardiff G4 too. You/We need to be looking out for the online status changing to “application under consideration for assessment 2” however it may be a bit of a wait for that, with 5 x vacancies I’d imagine there will be a lot of applications both external and internal to...

Don't worry about not completing all the questions in the numeracy, I didn't either but still passed, as long as you got the ones you did answer right you'll probably reach the benchmark, I did and made it to interview afterward, still awaiting a result on that though.

In my experience after around 6 unsuccessful applications at least 8-12 weeks but that's for the unsuccessful email, so far have not made it to interview so couldn't help with that timescale.

Hi, does anyone knows which if any of the South Wales boxes outside of the ROC work a 12 hour roster? Thanks in advance.

    That's good to know.

Yeah I'd much rather do a 12 hour roster as that's what I'm used to in my current job, fingers crossed and wait and see.

That's really helpful thank you, that sounds affordable enough to be going on with, its just the school bit to get through with no shift enhancement. Well application is in now see where it goes. Thanks so much for all the advice.

That's great thanks, interesting point re being paid as G1 for a full year as that pay scale isn't on the advert so can't really assess what that is regarding affordability.

Great advice thank you I will do that, in for a penny and all that. Just one final question, I know South Wales reasonably well but could you tell me which of those boxes are the most commutable from Penarth/ Cardiff?

That's great thank you, some of those are a bit of a lengthy distance from Penarth I think which may be as issue.

Thank you, that's interesting and very helpful. So the job won't be based at SWCC? What areas of SE Wales would it cover as if I was successful it would mean a relocation and I would be staying in the Penarth area. Any idea of the shift pattern these roles would be working? Thanks again.

My interest has been peeked by the current advertised vacancies at South Wales Control Centre in Cardiff, does anyone know what shift pattern they work? Also it’s advertised as a 12 month fixed term contract, is this the norm now, not sure how much of a risk that would be. Any advice greatly...
