Scotrail - Trainee Driver - Various (March 24)

Not yet, done SJT but not heard anything back after

Scotrail - Trainee Driver - Various (March 24)

Yeah but a TOC never will because the positions are highly sought after, so they can effectively take as long as they want and never be short of applicants

Ah nice, I know edinburgh are looking for 6 people with arbroath looking for someone also so might be a case for them to train them up here

Anyone know if there are training centres up in Scotland or would the 6 possible candidates be in England for IST

Scotrail - Trainee Driver - Various (March 24)

Not yet, but in all honesty after some research I wouldn't expect to here back anytime soon, TOC's are not known for speedy recruitment processes, and based of the other thread of people still going through the process from 2019 etc. We could be up for a long wait, I would say ride it out, most...

    A career as a signaller

Ah yes I read about that scenario assessment, if it's anything like my past experience on the trams, you got to listen to an extract off an accident and you needed to retain important information and relay the information back. But of course I have no idea if that would be the same for...

    A career as a signaller

I'm not sure about that, my portal is sitting at stage 3 currently with excellent screening feedback. Someone earlier mentioned that the assessment part was just the interview, but I could be wrong unless your email states you have more assessments before interview.

From what I've read and heard the interview is the final stage, and I've been told that it's a pretty standard interview process. Why do you want to work for network rail? Name a time when ... etc Using the S.T.A.R process in detail you should do fine Good luck mate

Scotrail - Trainee Driver - Various (March 24)

Hmm, just trying to gauge if they are doing a strange way if people that done the test 25th onwards have had emails Could possibly mean we have a chance, but suppose you can never really tell with railway recruitment haha

    A career as a signaller

Yeah I get that, just going off advertised salary to give him a rough idea

    A career as a signaller

This is true, most respected employers already disclose the salary on the job posting. I'm guessing by grade 7 he means signaller, so network rail openly post salary quotas on the website.

    Assessments & Medicals discussion

I'm interested in the answers to this also I've applied for trainee driver role and grade 7/9 signaller. I also take sertaline to help with anxiety due to unfortunate family problems, never affected my job etc, but curious if it would affect safety critical roles

    Scotrail Trainee Drivers (Ongoing)

Unfortunately I would say it's over, had something similar happen to me with avanti, where my laptop froze and blue screened and I wasn't able to resit

Scotrail - Trainee Driver - Various (March 24)

Yeah I suppose, I've had experience with this before same tests I done for edinburgh trams when I became a driver, so I had an idea of what to expect

Do you think maybe you where overthinking it slightly? 8 questions with a 35 min time limit seems adequate. I wasn't paying attention to my time but seemed like it was only about 15-20 for me.
