phoned virgin. 6 weeks later, email reply saying they didn't have a clue & thus I cancelled my Virgin contract. I wonder if Deutsche Bahn have flagged them as a dodgy ISP?

    German Rail in decline ?

I was on IC147, cross platform to ICE4 at Bad Bentheim onto IC2917, which I'm on currently, running in the same schedule to Berlin. UPDATE: better acceleration of the ICE4 appears to have made us approach Berlin HBF 10 minutes early!

How is the Bruxelles-Frankfurt ICE doing?

last few years, since Eurostar has extended to Amsterdam, I've travelled this route & used the Amsterdam-Berlin IC instead. Too many issues on the Brussels-Frankfurt ICE. Last journey (September 2022), the Eurostar lost ETCS communication when crossing into the Netherlands (emergency stop...

Happened to me once on the Metropolitan Line. First train of the day Wembley Park onto Uxbridge, so I assume more forgotten than failed: Made a nice timelapse: https://www.instagram.com/petermarsden/p/B7v8HOoJatT/?utm_medium=copy_link

    Sydney Inner West Trams Withdrawn

the original Variotrams had the design modified based off the German origins to cater for that twisty gradient on the Central Station ramps. As afar as CAF is concerned, I'd like to see how the Amsterdam CAFs handle the canal bridges over time, in light of the Combino issues

    Bridge Strikes

I think Tulse Hill Bridge needs big electronic signs with words to the effect: STOP YOU IDIOT, or perhaps some other 'french' phrases. Obviously the new reflective wrap doesn't work, it's not like my car headlights make it glow when I stop at the traffic lights down the hill. Completely...

    Bridge Strikes

http://www.trucknetuk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=104468 --- old post above --- --- new post below --- I'm going to add that last weekend I added a note onto 'fixmystreet.com' regarding the pedestrian crossing which is just prior to Tulse Hill bridge. Basically my experience of that crossing...

    Bridge Strikes

knowing this location very very well, what they actually need to do is reduce the height of the bridge if it's not going to get any higher. 4.2m is just enough for the truckers to give it a go. I see a truck sneak slowly under it every time I walk under it. A quote I found on a truckers...

Double deck trains in the UK

Sydney's double deck trains max out at approx 4.4m, and even then that's smaller than european gauge (suburban cars being 20m x 3m width, the intercity trailer cars 24m x 2.9m). Doors are ± 1100mm off the rail.

    Coronation Street tram crash

i normally lurk about this forum reading, but i feel i must comment on seeing this: 1) i work in the film/TV business. 2) i just wasted nearly 3 minutes of my life watching that. 3) if they spent £5m on that, I'd be extremely surprised. Accountants in our business can be creative like the...
