Class 165 on service to Great Malvern

No, I’d just prefer people weren’t condescended for being rightfully unhappy with such changes.

Class 165 on service to Great Malvern

I famously hate the “Would you prefer that or no train at all?” comments and always call them out as and when they pop up. Primarily because we’ve reached a new low if our services - for which tickets cost an absolute fortune anyway - get a massive downgrade to capacity and facilities (and...

SWR Class 458 to be retained

The situation is absolutely dire. Cab modifications should be forgotten about until the 701s are mass introduced, so that these can come in use to stand in ASAP.

    BA “New” Uniform

    Well said.

    SWR Metro fleet permanent withdrawals

Perhaps awaiting maintenance or something else? I’m sure SWR don’t put 455s on the route just for the fun of it.

    TfW ‘Active Travel’ Class 153s

Where was that announced and which units sorry?
  7. TT-ONR-NRN

    TfW ‘Active Travel’ Class 153s

Will these receive a new subclass or will they also be /3 or /9?

    BA “New” Uniform

Oh god. I’ve flown with BA three times since the new uniform was introduced and it just makes me so sad. It’s so cheap, plain and rubbish looking. To me, the original Julien McDonald uniform was just the smartest, most classy outfit you could see, especially the neck ties, and great quality...

Can and will train seats become comfortable again?

Yes, awful seats I always thought. EMTs always were the worst, as they somehow seemed even smaller than the same ones on GA and Chiltern, though that might have been in my head.

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

350s on Chase, London Birmingham, and St Albans Abbey. Everything else electric will be 730.

Merseyrail legacy fleet updates (Class 507/508)

June or July then. That has no bearing on what I’m saying though. The point is, we can’t hold onto them whether we’d like to or not.

Merseyrail legacy fleet updates (Class 507/508)

We get you like 50x, but the reality is they’ll be gone by May, and no amount of moaning about the trains replacing them will change that. We just have to make the best of the situation we’ve got and hope they settle down. The 755s were hopeless for their first few months (good thing they had...

Greater Anglia to install tables on its Stansted Express trains

To begin to make right. IIRC, the announcement suggested it would take absolutely yonks to fit all ten.

TPE Nova 3 (Class 68 + Mk5s) updates and withdrawal from service

If you care that much about that, which is perfectly valid as we all have different preferences, then the 168s would always be there as an alternative.

Horrendous Hull Trains East Coast ride

You can’t just reply to me stating my preference with “No…” I was giving my opinion! If yours is different, that’s fine.

Horrendous Hull Trains East Coast ride

But you must know that varies according to individual taste :)

Horrendous Hull Trains East Coast ride

    I vastly think it depends what new trains are being discussed. For example, I'd much rather have a 397 over a 350/4, a 345/710 over a 315, a 390 over a MK3, but I'd also much rather have an IC225 over an Azuma, a 175 over a 197, a 390 over an 805/807, and a Hull Trains 180 over an 802/3. All...

Ex LNER (and Grand Central) Mark 4 sets for TfW

I guess having more would allow them to do Manchester Swansea by swapping sets halfway through the day, i.e. as the first round trip is completed and it arrives into Swansea, a second set pulls in from the depot to work the second one, but I guess it wouldn't be the most resourceful process.

Class 701 'Aventra' trains for South Western Railway

Nice picture! The 450 with the doors open in the stabling road is a rare and fascinating catch also.
