They usually block 3 to 4 consecutive weekend every year during the winter months for engineering work on the main line. Assuming it will be a variety of work like track relay, signal and crossing renewal etc.
This photo was taken at Manningtree down siding Wednesday morning
Tracksy now shows 2 153 and there is a train 2Z50 which ran Thursday evening from Derby RTC to Manningtree
According to the Megabus website, these tickets are still available on East Midlands Railway route. I understand that these tickets are usually limited and searching on the website all the options between London and various destinations along the route are coaches.
Has anyone recently been...
Two weeks ago, I travelled between Manchester Oxford Road and Westhoughton using Northern. The train I planned to travel on was cancelled the day before (before 2200) due to 'Short-notice changes' but on NRE it did show as cancelled on the day of travel. On realtimetrains the train doesn't show...
The restriction at Clapham Junction actually starts at 1610.
The 1500 Southampton to Waterloo train departs Clapham Junction at 1612 on a weekday, so there might be a few minutes leeway?
This should be the service that is running through Wimbledon/Raynes Park Tomorrow which is correct on NRE. Unsure why NRE is still showing that the service is subject to change.
Keeping it as a Q path (it is in the WTT) prevents other operator or freight operating companies take up the path in current or future timetables. Obviously, Thameslink can decide to restore and run the service.
It is a similar situation to the SWR off-peak Waterloo to Waterloo (Via Hounslow)...
For TPE and SWR, my experience is you have to sign in 2 times. First time pressing sign in required from settings. Then go to the companies entertainment page, find the web icon at the top, and sign in again
Priv discount can only be loaded on oyster, not TOC smartcard product.
I had my NR only priv loaded onto the oyster 19th June at Hackney Central, 2 days before they remove the oyster reader from the ticket office. I think LO staff are trained to load the NR only priv at ticket machines from...
GWR, SWR, TPE, Northern and Avanti West Coast all have resumed their ticket checking on trains based on my recent travel.
TfW seems to be the only TOC currently not stopping at station with local door operation to comply with social distancing which could suggest they are a bit behind compared...
How many freight paths are there hourly between Northallerton and Newcastle/Newcastle and Edinburgh?
These are not consulted so I assume they will remain the same.
There is no engineering work between Axminster and Exeter today or tomorrow. But a bus is running as the stock cannot do Gillingham to Exeter for the whole weekend without fueling.
There is one unit going in and out for fueling (afternoon) in the weekday timetable from 17/05. The arrangement is only fueling during daytime.
It can be used as an option when Salisbury is completely blocked and for engineering work like these few weeks (Warminster/Gillingham-Salisbury blocked).
159 only gets 1500 miles of fuel these days and Salisbury is currently the only the SWR depot that can fuel.
The fueling arrangement at Exeter TMD should be ready for the new timetable.
Yes, you can obtain a promise to pay ticket from the ticket machine (It is a few steps as you have to enter your intended destination and choose which train to travel if they haven't change the layout). Then seek the guard to buy the ticket.
Thanks for all the reply. Seems like at most stations...
