CrossCountry Oxford to Guildford slower than GWR stopping service

May be I’m day dreaming... would it not solve most of the route/path problems if Reading to Staines route get new additional tracks... I don’t know if someone even thought about this or probably must have left this option out completely assuming this never gonna happen.

    Consequences of Nationalisation?

Any latest news on swr? I heard swr may get overtaken by gWr and wonder how true it is?

    Consequences of Nationalisation?

As we’ll keep hearing on SWR being nationalised (based on the recent news), I wonder how does it impact the route for all the commuters in general? Recently this happened to Northern and not sure on the consequences as it’s only been few days but would be lot worse/better as SWR owns core...

    Wokingham to Heathrow Via Staines

Agree. I'm going to terminal 5. My issue is the ticket on the first instance. Cannot find any monthly returns from Wokingham to Staines and why just those singles?

    Wokingham to Heathrow Via Staines

Thanks for the reply. Price wise it is more expensive £39 return :( I think getting off at Staines is much more quicker and cheaper and wonder why there is no (not day) return available?

    Wokingham to Heathrow Via Staines

Hi There, I've a trip coming up and got to get to Heathrow via Staines from Wokingham. I cannot find any monthly return train fares and wonder if they're available at first place? Singles are expensive costing £10 each way which totalling the costs to almost £30 for the journey. Wokingham -...

Why don't SWR have fast trains from Ascot, and could this be considered?

I would love this too but doesn’t happen and don’t think it’s ever gonna happen. I drive to twyford on regular basis for my regular commute.

    Parking at Twyford and Maidenhead

Parking in twyford is very challenging at times. Especially Mon-Wed, one must arrive by 7:30 to get parking. Maidenhead has much choice as there is a big parking lot next to the station which is almost double the space to the twyford. At some point Twyford station should considering building a...

Oxford to Gatwick Airport Direct service (Sat 14th Dec)

8-). Thanks. So basically, it is getting removed soon which is very sad.

SWR Longest Strike - December 2019

Agree and I’m aware knocking down those bridges is not easy and not possible. At least few parts of the track can be stretchable (not the full length) which can at least help for some faster trains. Looks like this is impossible and hopefully it’ll happen one day before I retire in the next 30...

Oxford to Gatwick Airport Direct service (Sat 14th Dec)

what does this mean then? Cross country won’t be running any services from Guildford any longer? Pardon my ignorance and no idea what is AiUi.

SWR Longest Strike - December 2019

Sorry if I sound stupid to ask this question at this time - what are the possibilities of doubling the tracks (I assume it is single tracks in each direction) from Reading to Feltham such that “real” fast journeys can happen in the future up to waterloo? I know my question has nothing to do...

Oxford to Gatwick Airport Direct service (Sat 14th Dec)

I wish this is a regular service as this helps avoiding change at Reading. Another one I would love to have is cross country to stop at Wokingham to/from Guildford which provides direct connections to and from Oxford.

Completely irrelevant comment. Similar to Belfast troubles then? Or Celtic vs rangers in scotland?

    Train 18 - Indian Railways

I think you are living the dream in a hallucinated world got stuck in 1900’s mate. May be its a cheaper product but definitely worth the money due to the manpower. I have heard Europe is filled with illegal immigrants vandalising trains, pulling panels off, breaking the doors and the list goes on!

    Season Ticket Renewal

My current monthly season ticket renewal ends on 16th January and it is from Twyford to All Zones (£386.10 per month with 10% GWR discount). Given the ticket fares go up from tomorrow, I wonder whether it is possible to renew (dated from 17th January) it today for the next 3 months?
