    Worcester & Gloucester depots GWR

Gloucester seems to have more intake than Worcester these days I find (has a bigger headcount I think too), well certainly in recent times. I'm not sure there is many/any still in training drivers at Worcester currently.

    Portsmouth Harbour-Cardiff Central GWR

That last Bristol to Pompey Mon-Sat is only booked a 2 car anyway. It is a hard thing to get right all of this, it's not as simple as just cancelling the 2HXX service group (for example) to provide an extra 2/3 car for the route, due to the interworkings on the Bristol Metro. Whilst you can...

    GWR Class 165/166 Turbo Diagrams

See even here we can't agree what is good and not good for a 3 car 165 route wise. A controller doesn't want to short form or cancel any train, but unless engineering can provide the right amount of trains (which they can't because of various issues and arguably no fault of their own!), then...

    GWR Class 165/166 Turbo Diagrams

It is an aim to keep 3 car 165s off of the route, but the fact is one isn't really much more suited anywhere else: Not suited Severn Beach or Devon Metro due to no bike space Not suited to Pompey or Weymouth route due to the environment onboard not being quite so "nice". That leaves them...

    Portsmouth Harbour-Cardiff Central GWR

1710 5 as booked 1810 4 as booked 2010 3 vice 4 cars due to the state the 4 car train was left in following it's southbound working with them on this morning, it was later declared unserviceable. The 1710 terminated at Bristol, presumably the reason the fans were told it was cancelled.

    GWR Class 165/166 Turbo Diagrams

This hasn't been used for some time, the current allocation of 3 car 165s in the Bristol area is a "permanent" thing this timetable period, as a result of the Class 166 refresh programme. 1701327678 This is fairly usual isn't it every year (Well HSS stock generally) ?

Additional calls to compensate for cancelled trains

Some lines of route have particular contingency plans that apply, but even then it's more of a guide than rules in some cases. It's a tough one to actually call sometimes and depends where the TOC/NR Control of the specific area sit on delay minutes v actually running a service for...

    GWR Class 165/166 Turbo Diagrams

As of Wednesday morning, Exeter was only 1 x Turbo short of its planned daily amount and by no coincidence there are stacks of trains cancelled in the Bristol area "More trains than usual needing repairs at the same time". You can certainly see how much short forming can hide the problem of...
