I traveled relatively recently (September 2022) between Vienna & Paris. It was a pleasant enough experience, but not of exceptionally high quality. I wouldn’t call the trains dirty, but they are showing their age considerably.
It could be as simple as just a bad read of the QR code, just happens time to time. If the driver only scanned once, they may have knew their reader was acting up or just checking the chart is better for customer service/boarding speed.
Just for reference, the new MÁV STRAT website is a delight to use - https://jegy.mav.hu/. A genuinely good online ticket buying experience, if you struggling with Hungarian.
I could have sworn I passed 443 being towed when I passed Saughton Park tonight, might have caught the wrong number. Was still in Lothian City colours.
Far too much to justify it really but it'd be a better diversion route for when Perth gets remodelled on the Glasgow - Dundee/Aberdeen route, keeping Stirling in the calling points at least.
I've often wondered why that's not the preferred diversionary route, would mean Stirling isn't left out. Assuming Perth would be a long blockade, it may be sensible to evaluate that surely?
I believe it was reported elsewhere that as of the May timetable it's set to receive 4 services a day. Not an increase to justify the spend but worth noting.
There's an evening peak service Glasgow Queen Street to Aberdeen with typically a 170+158 which leaves the 158 behind in Perth
I think there's also a Glasgow/Edinburgh - Aberdeen which joins to make 6 cars from Dundee - Aberdeen on Sundays
The next 385 isn't due to stats running until September and then one introduced "each week following" so if that timetable is accurate then I can't see why not.
