At mine all the men had worn suits and ties. The assessor said he appreciated the effort but to get comfortable and take off our ties if we wanted to - which we all promptly did.
I have seen a lot of posts that GTR training isn't happening in 2019 for many depots (I was waiting for Ashford and have been told it's not happening this year). Which depot are you waiting for?
After about 20 months in the talent pool I got told today Thameslink Ashford don't need any new trainees for a very long time. Gutted to get right to the end and not have an offer.
I just spoke to recruitment and they said Ashford is over-established and they won't need any trainees for 'a very long time'. I was too shell-shocked to ask for anymore info but that's what I was told. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
I can't comment for this role but I did a similar test for a timetabling job (outside of the railway). There was an overwhelming amount of information but at the end of it they said they weren't expecting anyone to get the right answer but wanted to see how people approached the task. Some...
As tiptoptaff said you will need to track through to see when you get the benefit as it depends on your bills. When I was paid four-weekly it was about 7 months after the double pay that I received the benefit.
Trainee driver for the Ashford depot (passed all the tests but waiting to have a medical once they have confirmed the start date). I got an on-hold email a little while back. Thanks I'll send them an email.
I have been on the waiting list for about 15 months now and have changed jobs. Should I inform HR now or wait until if/when they have a training place?
