    A young lady who recently, looking utterly horrified, asked me "...This isn't the train to Guildford, is it?!" having ridden fourteen stops in the wrong direction to Sunbury. To top it all off, she got off, crossed the platform, waited about fifteen minutes and didn't board the service back...

    It may be that the customer help database in its entirety has been duplicated over from EMR by whoever runs custhelp.com whilst the final details are ironed out?

    So these new ‘Virtual barriers’ have arrived at Chessington North. This consists of two extra Oyster pads and 12 (yes 12) posters telling customers to buy before they board (see attached image). Yawn. This will do literally nothing for fare evasion on this line which is rife. :rolleyes:

    Line side fire at Berrylands (07/02)

    Report from a friend onboard that there was an odd smell and fireworks sounds after leaving New Malden. Guard marshalled passengers into the rear 4 coaches and detrained at Berrylands where the fire took hold. Found a decent pic on Twitter.

    No room for a second set! As you can see from the image, the underbridge to the southbound platforms opens right onto the taxi rank on the backside of the station. There's no building and no room for a barrier. They did originally, when installing the gateline, close this exit entirely with...

    Again trivial, but of course the Stagecoach replacement buses serving Chessington still proudly exclaim they're 'South West Trains' with the Stagecoach colours and livery. A brand encore, if you will. Pictured here at Chessington North.
