Thameslink driver refuses to move train 16/11

One member of staff takes control the front 6 coaches One member of staff takes control of the rear 6 coaches Should find after a couple times people take notice the trains not leaving and stand behind the yellow line. Might even be lucky and get help from passagers. I have told people to...

    Lack of 26-30 railcard options

Only mentioning this as the validity between the two differ so it wouldn't be impossible to purchase the wrong ticket and an inspector might question why someones carrying a 16-25 ticket when they're clearly not that age and it seems kinda odd that a TVM in Cardiff City can issue 26-30 tickets...

    Lack of 26-30 railcard options

I thought I looked through the T&C and didn't see any mention of buying 16-25 tickets, even double checked the FAQ before making this thread just to make sure I didn't miss anything :/ Or, at least I checked: https://www.26-30railcard.co.uk/help/railcard-terms-conditions/ I wasn't aware it was...

    Lack of 26-30 railcard options

Purchased a 26-30 Explore Cardiff and Valley ticket from the office at Didcot Parkway without any issue But buying the exact same ticket a day later from Cardiff Central office and it wasn't on their system, the best they could offer was a 16-25 ticket for the same price After I was concerned...

More dangerous lineside behaviour around Flying Scotsman

I wouldn't be against this (As long as it was safe for the police to do) as there is no justification to trespassing, its just wrong. And who wouldn't want to see either a 121 or 142 and the Scotsman on the same day (or at least I'm guessing you're talking about the Class 121... bubble car :) )

TOPS Requests (including headcodes, allocations, traction, etc) [Instructions in Post 2]

I'm just wondering if anyone knows what this was? http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/H32397/2018/12/14/advanced My mate mentioned it had pretty strong lights pointing into the air what seems a little odd. Wish I had seen it :/ That RTT is the only movement I can see around 11:30 between...

Virgin Trains Twitter "help" Advance Fare help question

Thanks for both of your replies. This is what I assumed and wish I had thought things through more on the day, stopped at the station and at least spoke to platform staff about this rather than making the connection.

Virgin Trains Twitter "help" Advance Fare help question

I've always assumed my advance ticket would be valid for the service it was scheduled for and if there are any delays that means I would not be able to make that connection [safely?] it would be valid for the next service. I usually speak to a member of the information center when I've had...

    Buying Rover Ticket

Hello I'm just wondering if you can buy Rover tickets anywhere (for example buy a Explore Cardiff & Valleys Rover at Oxford Station) or does it need to be a station run by Arriva Trains Wales? I've noticed on the website: "The Explore Cardiff & Valleys ticket is valid for travel after 09.30...

Crosscountry Advanced Fare Name on Ticket

Thanks for the info Think all my Advanced Fare tickets have had names at the bottom, VTWC ticket had my correct name on it, but this was because it asked for my First/Last name rather than Name on Card. Oh well... All is good anyway. I'll keep that in mind when I next book via the XC website...

Crosscountry Advanced Fare Name on Ticket

Collected from the machine. Put card in - take it out - input collection details - get ticket Ah OK, sorry about that. I thought that the ticket had to match the railcard. So I should have been fine anyway if I held my RailCard, ID, Credit Card I paid with and the confirmation -----------...

Crosscountry Advanced Fare Name on Ticket

So, I've noticed if you purchase a ticket using Guest Checkout on the Crosscountry Mobile Website the only time it asks for your name is during the payment "Name on Card" section So as expected I put my name in that box as its show on my card (This is for example, not my real name in this...

    Theoretical - missed connection

Honestly. If you miss a train due to delays (Like I did yesterday thanks to VT 8:57 from Haymarket). Speak to customer service staff at the station you missed the connection, explain the situation to them. Usually they just turn around and say "There isn't much you can do about delays, sorry...

Valid Tickets? Oxford - Swindon - Reading

Hello I'm just wondering if this would be a valid move? All Tickets are Offpeak Returns I ask because, if an inspector from Swindon to Didcot Parkway stamps my ticket to say I've been on a train. Then 3 hours later I'm using the same ticket on a Didcot to Oxford service and an inspector see's...

On board catering: Which routes should (or shouldn't) provide it?

To be honest, the only times I've had catering in the UK is Virgin First Class First time was towards Birmingham on a Pendolino, I told the woman someone else was sat in my seat before and asked for a new cup n stuff, she ignored me and made me a coffee in some random dirty cup that was already...
