Is the £14.50 Super Off Peak Single a special offer fare for Christmas? I've been trying to find it for travel at the end of January, but it only seems to be available on the 3rd Jan.

My Mum informs me Penalty Fares have been introduced at Belper. Having not been staffed since 1968 it now has a ticket machine.

Can you still buy the rail-sail tickets at the ferry terminal? ISTR Stena used to sell them at Dun Laoghaire.

The quote only refers to the Fast Ticket machines. It doesn't say the customer can't collect them from the ticket office. It seems quite reasonable to assume the card requirement is a technical limitation of the machines.

I suppose the "solution" is to buy a ticket to the next station and excess it enroute. I wonder if the gate line staff that refuse to sell the ticket in the first place would issue the excess? :lol:

Would one of the TOC Telesales centres be able to sell the £76.80 fare and leave it on the FastTicket machine for you to collect?
