I don’t see how they can continue without a direct award despite the emergency measures in place. The contract runs out on Wednesday and if they are to continue the direct award or a contingency award has to be made to supplement the emergency measures. Is it right that an announcement about the direct award has to be made on Monday or Tuesday? And if it doesn’t happen will the OLR take over on Wednesday morning?

They are also paid less than drivers at cross rail, LO, and Southern. The main issue is pay deal was due 2018 and could not be negotiated due to last year franchise (allegedly) and the same is happening this year. So are drivers going to remain at SE with no realistic prospect of a pay deal for...
