Can they ask you to walk the remaining distance?

They either give you a taxi, or ask you to wait for the next train.

As a passenger what problems/incidents do you report to station staff/TOCs/Network Rail?

I've reported the help point at the front of Oxford station hasn't been working for months now, it's really frustrating.

Should disabled users upgraded to first class receive the full first class offering?

They'd need to fit accessible toilets too, not as simple as it seems?

Should disabled users upgraded to first class receive the full first class offering?

Even if there is a wheelchair space in both classes, at short platform stations they often end up putting you in first class anyway (e.g. the GWR HSTs, where there are spaces in coach C and L). I'd hope people wouldn't abuse the system - imho it's better with the wheelchair space in first, as...

Should disabled users upgraded to first class receive the full first class offering?

When I've travelled in first class on a standard class ticket (wheelchair user), I've offered to pay for refreshments, but they don't have the facilities.

    Cancellation, can I claim?

    Thanks both.

    Cancellation, can I claim?

The GWR train I was due to travel on last weekend was cancelled - can I claim for this, as it forced me to use the train before the cancelled service?

An MP wants your views: How would you rate your experience of using Great Western Railway?

I prefer the wheelchair space provision in the new IETs as compared to the HST (I travel regularly between Oxford and Worcester). Because the spaces are in first class, they are less likely to be occupied by people's luggage or by people with buggies, both of which have refused to move in the...

    Paddington Passenger Assistance

As a wheelchair user using GWR trains relatively often, it's so much better having the wheelchair spaces in first. On the HSTs, and even the refurbished Turbos, the wheelchair spaces are very much shared spaces (luggage, buggies etc) in standard, so even if you reserve your space there's no...

    GWR stock wheelchair space

Thanks both! It is odd I've never encountered it before, but I'm sure it'll work out - they can't always put me on the right carriage when there's such a long train due to WOF being a short platform.

    GWR stock wheelchair space

Worcester Foregate Street to Oxford on a Sunday - could it be a refurbed Turbo, I haven't been on one of those for ages?

    GWR stock wheelchair space

Hi, I'm familiar with the wheelchair space being in C00 (HST), E00, E43 (new trains), but my most recent journey has A04 booked, can anyone tell me what sort of stock this is? TIA

    GWR compensation - disabled passenger

The problem is that the first class space is narrow - my 17" manual wheelchair will fit in that space, my electric wheelchair wont, so that may have been so for the OP.

    GWR compensation - disabled passenger

I know when I've used Worcester stations with a powered wheelchair, no appropriate alternative transport has been available. Yes, they have black cabs, but those don't take many powered wheelchairs.

    Wheelchair space and ticket type

Thanks all - upgraded to first class both ways :) On the HST because someone else was booked in coach C, and on the way back because the only wheelchair spaces on the new trains are in First. The ramps are more of a faff than on the older trains (none of the platform staff had used them...

    Wheelchair space and ticket type

As far as I can tell, the train on the 23rd will be an HST - wheelchair spaces in C00 and L00 (which I'm booked for). However, the train back may be one of the IETs, as the space is E43, which I've never seen as a wheelchair space before - only C00/L00 on the HSTs, or whichever carriage happens...

    Wheelchair space and ticket type

I don't travel til Monday, but I already had the tickets (I was changing the time I travelled at when I rejigged the assistance). I'm just worried in case the guard tells me I shouldn't be in First with that ticket.

    Wheelchair space and ticket type

I've just booked a journey on a GWR HST, 2nd leg Didcot Parkway to Bristol Parkway. However, the wheelchair space in standard class is already booked, so they've put me into first class. Does this mean I will have to buy a first class ticket for that leg? At the moment I've just got a Super...

    GWR wheelchair spaces

Thanks both, I'll phone and check - I hadn't thought of that! I can't find a seating plan online for the new trains unfortunately.
