    Rejection for Perth trainee driver

Manager interview is not part of the assessment but the CBI is, so if you only failed the manager interview then you still have 2 attempts left.

    Waterloo to southampton

Why, if travelling from Guildford to horsham, would you go to Epsom?, you would change at Leatherhead as all trains stop there! There is absolutely no good reason to carry on to Epsom just to travel back through Leatherhead on the way to Horsham

    Your favourite model train ever!

I would like to say the Bachmann 4-CEP, and although a beautiful looking model that runs well I am very disappointed with the lighting, in the intermediate coaches it is quite bright, but in the end coaches it is very dim indeed, in fact in one of them the guards van is brighter than the rest of...

Electrification of GWML: some uncomfortable truths

And the line will then be handed over to Southern or SWT to run, unless FGW are going to have a small fleet of 3rd rail EMUs just for this line! Can't see anybody being happy about this unless FGW are compensated for the lost revenue and who-ever takes it on are given some more units to operate...

Just how much does a redundant diesel locomotive cost to buy?

The easy answer is naff all compared to the costs of restoration and running the thing.

West Yorkshire Day Rover 9th May 2010

Had problems taking pictures of the railways?

I was at Salisbury when some kettle came in, everybody on the end of the platform being sensible except one oldish chap who decided to walk down the ramp, I called him back, flashing my ID all official like  and got the "well there isn't a sign", I replied "Well whats that then" pointing to...

    Election today - please vote

Which is probably where 99% of these things come from, now if the house occupiers were fined for giving false information then it MAY put an end to it. I mean easy way for the t##ts to get on telly when 2 year old Sophie gets a poling card, well of course she will, mummy put her on the form...

Travelling right behind a derailed train

The good old "brace position" where if the plane crashes (properly) you break your own neck (and die) as it is cheaper for the airlines to pay out for a dead person than one that is seriously injured and will need constant care for the rest of their (long) natural life! Just my opinion of...

    Travelling Pass on Other Operators

Normally "B" but occasionally "C" if absolutely necessary to prevent possible danger to others. Have locked a blocked toilet out as it was VERY close to overflowing then went and informed the TM what I had done and why. Why do people just keep using it even when it is obvious it is blocked...

Good to see the old tricks are still alive and well...

At a guess I would say because some guards dont look at the tickets properly and just punch them without realising its a rover ticket!

SPAD indicator on the Penistone line

A SPAD indicator has 3 red lights mounted vertically, the middle one lights up with the top and bottom ones flashing together, only ever seen one going off and that is enough thank you.

Stations with no active platforms numbered...

Platform 1 is now the staff car park (no track), platforms 2 and 3 have been cut in half with the north end of both and the south end of 2 no longer in passenger use, the south end of 3 is the (normal) Gunnislake platform.

    Tories to nationalise Tube Lines

Do you mind, I am trying to have a pint or 2 and have just spat all over my keyboard

    Tories to nationalise Tube Lines

Nice headline, but hey don't let the truth get in the way will you. This has naff all to do with the Tories (who are not in power, it is still Labour until the coalition is sorted out) so could you please explain what this has got to do with the Tories! I await a sensible, factual response!

So, you're thinking of voting BNP because they're just misunderstood?

You really taught him a lesson there then! Teach the tw4t a proper lesson. Not half as much as the aggressor was laughing AT YOU!
